I recently visited Haven Spa (the 250 mercer st location) for a prenatal massage, excited and convinced by their promise of a safe and relaxing experience tailored to expectant mothers. However, I left the spa feeling disappointed and uncomfortable due to several shortcomings in their service. I had high hopes for a wonderful and relaxing prenatal massage, and those expectations were not met.

Once I got into my assigned room for the massage, it was evident that Haven Spa lacked the proper equipment necessary for a prenatal massage. Despite their claims on their website regarding their pre-natal massages, the most obvious red flag was that they did not provide a massage bed with a hole for the belly, which is essential for ensuring comfort during the treatment. Instead, they offered a subpar and inadequate pillow option. The pillow's intended design, was nothing but a VERY shallow indent, which failed to accommodate my rather small 25-week pregnant belly. I am quite petite and do not have a large bump. This pillow caused significant discomfort and pain within seconds of attempting to lie on it. This created a considerable 8-10 inch gap between the height of the pillow and the massage table, resulting in my head hanging down and my legs at an awkward angle which would have been so uncomfortable if I chose to move forward with this "option". It was very annoying that the spa's pregnancy pillow "option" only was for the length of my torso, neglecting the proper support required for my entirety of the body.

Because this spa did not have the appropriate massage bed and the discomfort caused by the pillow, my masseuse was only able to provide the massage while I was lying on my side. The side facing up received all the attention, while the side I was lying on did not...so not a full massage. And anyone who is getting a massage for back discomfort or tension knows that they want their entire back massaged....not just part of it. ESPECIALLY if you're paying. Although my masseuse was friendly and did their best with the limited equipment available, the experience did not meet my expectations....at all.

On top of that, I'm super disappointed in the response or what really is the lack of response from Haven Spa. I emailed the spa 13 days ago, where I detailed my discomfort and expressed my concern about their failure to provide the advertised safe and relaxing prenatal massage experience. I had hoped to hear from them before writing this review but it seems that they have chosen to disregard my concerns and dismiss my experience altogether. It is unfortunate that they have displayed a lack of care for their customers' comfort and failed to live up to their own marketing promises.

I would not recommend Haven Spa if you're looking for a comfortable and enjoyable pre-natal massage...as mine was far from the relaxing experience they advertise. The lack of the proper massage bed and their alternative of an inadequate pillow made the session uncomfortable, initially painful and had me tense and I was unable to fully relax for the duration of the massage...which was a...

An honest and true review: Haven is a BEAUTIFUL location. It’s very serene and warm. The people on the front desk were very attentive and kind, and made sure I was taken care of to start my appointment. They had a great lobby with tea and snacks provided for.

With everything so professionally done, I was caught off guard when my nail technician asked me what services I needed to get done. Part because I didn’t know the name of the services I had booked, part because I thought they should know already because it was communicated to them.

The service was great for the most part. My nail technician took care of me. The only negative part of the experience was when I was getting my manicure done. I had given the technician a heads up that I’m REALLY picky with the shape of my nails. Like I want it perfect; especially since I used to do my own nails and also I will have my nails for about 3 weeks.

At first, she was cooperative, then when it came to my other hand and I said it needed to be shaped more evenly. She said it’s good. I said no it’s not. She explained how it’s okay because it’s about how people see it. But I could see with my own eyes my nails were uneven and I responded that I will be seeing it. She was not happy, but did it anyway. I just didn’t appreciate that exchange.

When I got home, I felt the edge of my nails bumpy…. Thank God I had the nail file they gave and was able to fix it myself. Because if not, it would have driven me crazy!!

The last thing I would say is because I am new to getting my nails done, I would take note of how long it lasts (gel nails). For this particular salon, it lasted about 10 days before the gel chipped. Which I think is...

After a long flight from Australia, my skin had a freak out and I was bloated as hell! We're staying in the area so I decided to look for spas offering speciality facials and body slimming/cellulite treatments. I came across Haven's mixed reviews and still persisted to give it a go as the Hour Glass body slimming treatment sounded perfect! I rang and got an appointment within the hour, back home that would be iffy, but I still went ahead anyway. I was professionally greeted by front desk, promptly filled out my details and was taken to the change rooms to get ready. My therapist was Maria. Not only was she beautiful, she was warm and kind and so professional. We instantly got chatting, she made me feel very comfortable with her compentency! The treatment was a results based treatment, that's what I paid for and that's certainly what I received! Maria was incredible! So professional, attention to detail, thoroughness all exceptional! I also had my facial done with her - also exceptional! Results from both treatments were incredible! I have tried slimming treatments all over the world, this was by far the best results ever! I highly reccomend Maria and these treatments to anyone looking to slim down, remove Cellulite and horrible orange peel skin. Maria I love you and I'll be back...
