This chic and stylish restaurant earns a well-deserved five-star rating for its exceptional food, sophisticated ambiance, and impeccable service.

Ambiance: BONDST’s interior is a testament to modern elegance with a touch of Japanese minimalism. The three-level space features a cozy lounge, an intimate main dining room, and a vibrant sushi bar. Soft lighting, sleek wooden furnishings, and contemporary art pieces create a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for both romantic dinners and lively gatherings.

Service: The service at BONDST is truly outstanding. From the moment you are welcomed, the staff is professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. They are eager to guide you through the menu, offer thoughtful recommendations.

Food and Drinks: BONDST’s menu showcases a creative take on traditional Japanese cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Here are some must-try dishes and drinks to enhance your visit:

Appetizers: Tuna Tarts: A signature starter, featuring crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and jalapeño. The combination of textures and flavors is both refreshing and satisfying. Yellowtail Jalapeño: Thinly sliced yellowtail drizzled with yuzu soy sauce and topped with jalapeño slices. This dish perfectly balances the delicate fish with a hint of heat and citrus. Rock Shrimp Tempura: Lightly battered and fried rock shrimp served with a spicy aioli. The shrimp are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making for a delightful appetizer.

Sushi and Sashimi: Omakase: For a truly exceptional experience, opt for the omakase, where the chef presents a curated selection of the freshest and most exquisite sushi and sashimi. Each piece is beautifully crafted and showcases the chef’s artistry. Toro Tartare: Silky smooth fatty tuna tartare served with caviar and gold leaf, offering a luxurious and indulgent taste. Uni Nigiri: Creamy and briny sea urchin, served as nigiri, is a delicacy that BONDST prepares to perfection.

Signature Rolls: BONDST Roll: A standout roll featuring tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, with avocado and spicy mayonnaise, topped with tempura flakes for a delightful crunch. Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll: Spicy tuna and avocado, wrapped in crispy rice, and topped with eel sauce and tempura bits. A perfect blend of spice, crunch, and sweetness.

Main Courses: Miso Black Cod: Tender black cod marinated in a sweet miso glaze, served with a side of pickled vegetables. The fish is perfectly cooked, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor. Wagyu Beef Tataki: Seared slices of premium Wagyu beef, served with ponzu sauce and garnished with fresh herbs. The beef is incredibly tender and flavorful.

Desserts: Green Tea Panna Cotta: A creamy panna cotta infused with green tea, served with fresh berries. The dessert is light, refreshing, and a perfect end to the meal. Chocolate Lava Cake: A rich and decadent chocolate cake with a molten center, served with vanilla ice cream. An indulgent treat that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Drinks: Sake Selection: BONDST offers an impressive selection of premium sakes. The knowledgeable staff can help you choose the perfect sake to pair with your meal. Cocktails: Try the Yuzu Margarita, a refreshing twist on the classic cocktail with yuzu juice and jalapeño, or the BONDST Manhattan, featuring Japanese whisky for a unique flavor profile.

Overall Impression: BONDST excels in every aspect, from its elegant ambiance and exceptional service to its innovative and exquisite cuisine. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, making for a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a night out, BONDST promises an unparalleled culinary adventure.

When a restaurants dessert is as good as the cuisine they specialize in, you just know right then this is a keeper.

I had heard so much about BONDST, it was about time I tried it for myself. So my husband and I made reservations and had a go at it. So first of all, if you don't know NYC, you would have a truly hard time finding the location. On the outside it looks like the run off the mill Soho Brownstone (of course, truly gorgeous, just no clue that there is a restaurant within). They have the option of eating at the lounge or at the restaurant. After reading reviews, we chose the lounge as the food is pretty much the same, only a more relaxed vibe and we're all about that relaxed vibe. I do plan to try the restaurant part on a more formal occasion.

We step down to the lounge and give our names, wherein the hostess seats us immediately. They gave us a super cozy secluded and intimate corner, which was exactly what we wanted. Menus and water were brought right after. Our waitress was quite attentive in helping us decide what we want to order. She told us what the top sellers are and what we'd enjoy etc. While deciding what edibles we want, we ordered some drinks. My husband ordered the Shishito Jalapeno Margarita, which he swears by and claims it is one of the best cocktails he's ever had (well, he ordered 5) and I a glass of red.

We settled on ordering the following eats (and note, if you go these are absolute must gets). Big Eye Tuna Tarts, Edamame, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Black Sea Bass Carpaccio, Mini Wagyu Burgers, Toro Scallion & Spicy Tuna Rolls.

For Dessert: Assorted Ice Cream & Sorbet, BONDST Donuts, Sweet Nothings, Bread Pudding.

I'm not even sure how to describe the incredibly mouthwatering flavours happening in our mouths at the time. You'd almost think God was teasing us, making us beg for more as if we were knocking on the doors of heaven.

The Big Eye Tuna Tart was to die for. No jokes. The white truffle oil and fresh tuna combined, damn, there really are no words. The wagyu burger --- the only other amazing wagyu I've ever loved so much was at Restaurant Daniel! CAN YOU IMAGINE how phenomenal this one must have been? The sushi rolls were large, fresh and very tasty. We really didn't want the night to end. But alas, dessert menu was brought over before we knew it and OH. MY. GOD. Can I just say, if all desserts at Japanese restaurants were like this... well, you know the rest.

The donuts, oh these donuts. Just a pure tease. Filled with delicious tasting jams and custards. UGH! Why??? I have never been a fan of bread pudding, but guys, this one --- is a definite must get. Flavourful, incredible, melt in your mouth, is just the tip of the ice berg. I'm also a huge fan of the sweet nothings plate. The idea is adorable and you get to taste a bunch of sweet nothings you otherwise wouldn't order as a full plate.

Alright, alright... I'm done fantasizing about my beautiful dinner at BONDST! Just go, take my advise and go with an empty stomach and a very full wallet! Worth...

If you love sushi, take yourself on a date to BondST. If you hate sushi, take yourself on a date to BondST, they will fix that. Staff is very hospitable (like expert hospitality level) and knowledgeable about the very extensive menu and even more extensive wine and sake menu. Overwhelmed? Can’t pronounce Japanese words (even though it’s really easy once you learn at least one of the alphabets)? They’ve got your back. You can order a whole slew of random drinks, hot appetizers, cold appetizers, entrees, sushi rolls, and nigiri sushi and it will all be presented to you like a curated sushi journey. Apart from their valuable advice, I highly recommend trying a few different glasses of sake off the premium sake list. (It’s not your suburban sushi restaurant hot table sake, it’s the fancy stuff, you drink it like white wine, and if you’re like me you instantly forget about white wine forever). Each sake tastes so beautiful and different from the other and the menu and the waiters do a good job of helping you figure out what to order depending on your tastes. And if you’re still afraid of sake because you still can’t pronounce Japanese, BondST has the best lychee martini out there, not to mention excellent other cocktails expertly made. For food, I definitely recommend the tuna tarts (add truffle for fancy flavor!) which seem unique to BondST and are a very memorable and fun cold appetizer. Of the hot appetizers, the fois gras gyoza blew my mind. Like my synapses all lit up and I short circuited. I might come back and get just those for myself for dinner. And then the sushi. The sushi rolls are delicate, flavorful, and unique - one of my now favorite rolls of all time is the beautiful, pearlescent, BondST scallop roll. I’ve had it three times now and it’s like a sushi hug. We took a big sampling of the desserts this time, a classic being the matcha Mille crepe cake, but my favorites this time were the dark chocolate mochi ice cream of the mochi ice cream trio and the donuts which are filled with surprises. Carpe diem. Be royalty. Dress up. Take yourself (and ok maybe a special someone else) to BondST. Learn about...
