I initially failed the math medical dosage with few points left which was a wake up call for me. I was falling asleep in the class after working graveyard hours. My professor provided me not only explanation of why I failed but helped me realized the need invest more attention into studying. I took the class again and pass the second time but will be terminated from the program once I fail other classes. I was careful and attentive every class, read from my notes and slides, listen when the teacher repeats/focuses a specific topic or material, and study groups. The biggest advantage I had that time was associating myself with these 3 classmates from finish till end. We meet up very early, exchange notes/study materials, study and practice NCLEX questions. The class professors ran out of time reading hundreds of slides to cover chapters of these thick nursing books. Yes, exams seem to not reflect the study materials and I was barely passing. Also, our clinical instructor Prof Maricedo was very helpful and smart. Before going to clinical unit, she expected us to have our assignments ready. During our prehuddle meeting, we go around explaining the pts we had, pathophysiology, symptoms, nursing interventions, treatment. She was willing to explain some class materials when we brought it to her attention. I took my NCLEX board exam 3 months after graduation and the computer stopped around 110 and pass. Exams are geared towards critical thinking, prioritizing, and application based on learning. Iβm blessed to have my union pay for my school from the beggining till end except that math class I failed. Currently in FNP program, and my hospital pays...
HORRIBLE SCHOOL currently in the LPN-RN bridge program and expected to graduate in May 2020. The school is unorganized and looks for ways to get money out of students by adding last minute books, online programs and other requirements needed to pass.Whatever they say tuition is it is not! they are hidden add on fees as the semester progresses. Make sure to watch your fin aid package money WILL go missing and they will charge you extra money in your tuition bill. President of the school was fired from her last job for stealing school funds so be wary. Classes are a joke and they teach you absolutely nothing and do NOT prepare you for NCLEX. Professors are rude and condescending. You will wonder what you are paying money for going to this school. take my advice and go to a cheaper program where the school actually CARES about you being a nurse. not just a means for...
Β Β Β Read moreHelene Fuld College of nursing gave me the ability to increase my nursing knowledge via an evidence based nursing curriculum. The seasoned instructors provided appropriate learning venues that aided studentβs initiatives which are necessary to excel as professional nurses. As a recent graduate, November 2010, I would highly recommend HFCN to all LPNs that aspire to become RNs. If you are searching for a one year program, then this is the college for you. The institution has recently added a RN to BSN program. I was able to complete my MSN teaching internship the fall of 2013. Although it is a new program it is well developed and meets the needs of BSN prepared nurses. The uniqueness of HFCN allows the LPN to become a RN then a BSN within a singular milieu.
