After hunting for nail salons to take my little cousin to for his manicure, Honey popped up and seemed like one of the only good options in the area. I was a little nervous considering itās a relatively new salon, but decided to give it a shot. I got a pedicure with regular polish, a manicure with no polish as I was planning on doing press-ons so I just needed the nail care, and my little cousin got a manicure with polish. The salon is nice, I like the size of it - very cozy. I was so happy when I walked in with my 13 year old cousin that no one was phased - there was even a gentleman already there getting a mani pedi. Lisa was our tech - she started my pedicure and let my cousin sit in the chair next to me and we were cracking up at him discovering it was a massage chair. I let her know this was his first manicure and she took extra good care of him. It was really chill and quiet, but no one cared when my little cousin was talking to me and asking about the process during my pedicure (it was later in the day and youāre allowed to talk of course, I just didnāt want to disturb anyone). Every tech was busy which was great but they were still all very on the ball - one was doing I believe gel-x on a client and I was so impressed with how detailed she was (I actually think I see her Google review!) and all the other techs were going over and appeared to be encouraging/praising her and it was just super nice to see. Lisa was very detailed - honestly the first time anyone has ever touched my ingrown toe nail and I didnāt see stars and feel like I was about to pass out. She took her time, but was also moving at a very normal pace (I didnāt feel like I was there forever). My manicure was also great - my nails have gotten super thin and Lisa was extra careful/attentive. I was drying my nails when Lisa started on my cousin but kept checking in and he was having a blast - he kept saying over and over how much he loved this experience! He repeated it on the way home, kept telling his mom, he told me heās so excited to show everyone at school! Itās a little cheaper if you pay with cash which is very normal for nail salons Iāve been to lately, but what I appreciated is Lisa let me know the moment I handed her the card that even thought the total was $53, because Iām paying with card it would be $55 and asked me if that was okay. Their prices are great (some places a regular mani-pedi can be $70 which I understand, but I was so pleased with the prices here), the experience was wonderful. I told my husband I would seriously travel in from Manhattan to get my nails done here and would love to make it a frequent outing with my cousin - I loved...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall my experience here was not the best. I went in for an appointment for gel-x nails on Wednesday 04/24. I already knew what design I wanted done so when asked about colors/shape/etc. I showed them the picture of what I wanted done. They told me it was too complicated so they would try but couldnāt promise it would be good , personally I appreciated the honesty from the nail tech. I had other inspiration pictures on my phone for nail sets so I asked if they could do something else that would b simpler , the picture below shows the white abstract French nail design I wanted.
The nail tech told me that would be fine, it was much simpler and she could do it. So I proceeded to get my nails done. However halfway through the service she starts telling me that she was going to do something else on my nails that would in her words ābe betterā and similar . I told her again that I really wanted the design I showed and she told me she would do the design she wanted to do first because the 2nd picture I showed her was still too complicated. And that if I really didnāt like it then she would try to do what I requested. This was all said with an annoyed attitude from her.
At this point I started getting frustrated because I donāt understand why she would say she could do the design only for her to change her mind halfway through. Throughout the rest of the service she continued to make comments about how what she was gonna do would be better , even making comments that the design I chose would not look good because of shape of my nails. This also took up much longer than expected time-wise , she ended up doing a very simple thin French on me. At this point I just accepted it even though it was no where close to what I wanted because I was short on time and really needed my nails done. It also looked decent, it wasnāt what I wanted at all but it looked decent.
However today is 04/28 and on at least four nails the paint has begun to chip. Which makes the situation even more frustrating. I was willing to let my bad experience slide , but there is absolutely no reason as to why my nails should be chipping 4 days after I got them done. I wouldāve been fine with not getting the design I wanted if the quality of the nails would have been good but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my favorite nail salon but I had a really bad experience that made them lose my business. I called last second tonight to get a manicure and told them if they couldnt fit me in no problem, but they told me to come in. I went in right away around 6:20 and started soaking my powder. Another customer came in looking for a pedicure and my same lady took her at the same time as me. I tried so hard to be patient but once it was 7:10 I couldnāt sit there anymore out of principle and feeling taken for granted. I work a lot and barely have free time for nails and this just felt so wrong. I started to take off my own aluminum foil and another worker noticed and helped and told me she was painting her toes and it would be only a bit longer but i had already waited for so long and they let another customer take priority over me. They still charged me $11 to remove the powder ⦠and said theyād take it off the priced of my manicure when I come back. So...
