Keuka Kafe!!!
Service: As soon as my sister and I walked in it was all smiles and very welcoming. We walked in and were asked if we had a reservation - to which I replied no and sat down at one of the tables that wasn't reserved. I let the server know I had a Groupon and he asked "are you Sandy?"... I said "yes how how do you know that?" 🤔. He then said "you do have a reservation" and moved us over to the reserved table lol. I was laughing so hard because it was so unexpected. He saw on Facebook that I talked about going and was kind enough to reserve a table for me! Carlos the amazing bartender was much more than a bartender, he was the bartender, host, busboy, and server. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he was the chef too 😂😂😂 (he's not). I was a little worried that I saw him doing everything alone but he surpassed my expectations. Everybody was happy, he left Noone waiting at any point in time, and he was very attentive and catered to everyone. The service was impeccable.
Food: There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try! I had the Groupon so we started with a nice dry bottle of red wine from Italy. We started with the Crab n Avocado appetizer which was soooo good, it reminded me of my favorite appetizer as Havana Central, lobster stuffed avocado, but this was actually a lot more flavorful and it came with pieces of toasted bread that was delicious . The bread had some kind of garlic spread on it which was amazing. We also ordered the mussels everybody was raving about in the riesling garlic sauce. They were soaked in the sauce and they didn't have that fishy taste that mussels usually have. It was fantastic. They really were as good as you guys said. As you can see the portions are GENEROUS. We didn't even finish everything, packed some of the food to go. And then came the Keuka Pizza we ordered. We were already pretty full off of the wine and Appetizers so I feel like I couldn't really appreciate the pizza as much as I wanted to. The jack cheese on the thin crust pizza was so good. The crust was my favorite part, perfectly crispy and thin just how I like it. It had avocado pesto, shrimp, Jack cheese and cilantro. It was very different, but good. We did get a second bottle of the wine because we weren't ready to leave... which we also finished lol.
I will definitely be returning for dinner, I forgot to try the cheese and meat platter. I definitely have to try that the next time. I LOVE cheese. I also got to meet the famous Oleg because we were there until close! Very nice guy as well! Actually we were there after closing time because I thought they closed at 11 but they closed at 10. I felt so bad that we were still there preventing him from closing but Carlos was very kind and did not rush us out. I definitely recommend. Thank you Carlos for a fantastic evening. We had a great evening together on our sister date.
Ps: I loved all the candles everywhere, the dim lighting and the music. It had an intimate, cozy vibe. Very nice for...
Read moreWent there to catch up with a friend for dinner. Only heard about this place because we saw it was participating in restaurant week. Service sucked even though we were the only ones there!!! There was a woman with curly hair in her AirPods looked like she was scrolling on her phone the entire time. Appetizers were super mid, toasts were overcooked dry and hard. My friend got the pierogis which were also meh . Entree described on the menu sounded like it was going to taste really good some Moroccan chicken. Honestly tasted weird. Very underwhelming. I couldn’t even finish. I think I was most disappointed was with the service. She didn’t even check in at all to see if we’re doing okay. Only time she vaguely asked was when she wanted to clear our plates for the dessert. I told her I didn’t like my entree when she finally came by to take the plate and asked how everything was. She just apologized and said so no box? No shit. lol if I didn’t like it and you see it was just tried then why do you think I’d want this to go?? Instead of asking me for an alternative she just takes the plate away. The desert limoncello mascarpone was good can’t complain but with the other courses I was sad I even came here tonight. Should’ve gone anywhere else. Won’t be coming back here again. Idk how there’s a 4.5 google rating to this place maybe just for the wine? I think I’d let a lot of things go if the service wasn’t absolute CRAP. she did not even refill water. She gave us ginger ale and it wasn’t even filled to the top. Charged us $4 each for water downed soda. Did I mention I’m 9 months pregnant and left the restaurant hungry after spending over $50?? I’m just baffled at her attitude and demeanor. I highly don’t recommend this place. I never left a restaurant and not tipped and here I was like for what???? For her clearing up the plates with so much attitude and annoyance. My friend and I said we now know never to come back here again. Don’t be fooled by my camera’s...
Read moreWhen I came in the waitress told me to sit anywhere. There was a lot of customers and she was very busy because she was by herself. I still got served fairly quickly and she remembered my order without writing it down. I ordered the mussels with curry sauce, pork vindaloo and cheesecake. I only had water as my drink. The mussels were good and came with garlic bread. The curry was not that spicy even though the waitress said it was but that could just be my tolerance level. I wasn't really a fan of the curry sauce but I got it because I never had curry and mussels. Next time I'll get the mussels with tomato sauce or garlic sauce. The next dish was the pork vindaloo and rice. The rice had raisins in it. I don't see a need for raisins in rice , but when mixing the rice with the vindaloo sauce it was good. Also, it looked like they took a quarter of a pork chop and cut it up to small pieces and drowned vindaloo on it. The cheesecake was good it came with a chocolate base and...
