Ideal Food Basket — Local services in New York

The prices for things is getting better. They do have a lot more on sale items now, but they don’t have an extended selection like key food or the other supermarkets. The customer service is horrendous. The “women” there are caddy, unprofessional and disrespectful. You can tell they have limited manners. The managers there are the same. So no wonder the staff imitates. The managers appear to side more with the staff and forget the business rule of giving respect to the customer. -The one that is purchasing and spending money on their items.- This is the closest supermarket to me, but it’s so uncomfortable going there bc you never know what kind of attitude you’re going to get from cashier workers. Some floor staff is young men and they just seem to have tunnel vision in what they’re doing and provide no support on the floor otherwise. There is, no above and beyond, at this location. I decided to go there because everywhere else is closed I went to get a sandwich from the deli dept there was a Spanish lady in front of me who got was served, the worker saw me but proceeded to ignore me for at least seven minutes so finally said something he told me “oh I thought u were waiting for someone” (me wondering how he could think that when I was clearly standing on line) after I told him that I wanted a sandwich he tells me he’s busy he can’t make it right now I said OK fine I’ll wait after 10 minutes passes by I asked him if he started yet, again he proceeds to tell me I told you I’m busy I cannot make it , at that point I just hold him forget it and of course left hungry and disappointed, I assumed I wasn’t the right race for him to help me, I just know they will never get a penny...

Ideal has been opened now for almost a yr and I waited to post because I really wanted to see of they were going to maintain the standard they started off with.

I gave it four stars because some things are priced on the high side even compared to Path mark and Keyfood. Having said that though the place is clean, th e have whatever you're looking for including a deli counter with fresh food, salads and spreads daily.
