I really wanted to love this place. I drove from LI bc of the rave reviews and the videos on Instagram that make it seem like they do such a good job. I booked a Brazilian wax and ingrown hair removal. I got the Brazilian but my tech didn’t do the ingrown hair removal at all. I was going to say something but then I thought maybe it’s just not meant to be. Like you sis for something then it turns out worse ya know, so I said maybe this is the universe telling me don’t push the ingrown hair removal. I assumed all my hair was removed with the waxing, not till I got home I realized I had random hairs still. Usually when I go to European wax, whatever hairs don’t get pulled up with the wax, they tweeze them out, not here. I went home and tweezed them out myself. Not to mention the hair still left that I could actually feel when I was showering. I had legit wax left in my butt. I thought maybe it was just sensitive but when I took my shower I was genuinely surprised my how much was still in there. The hair left is obv gonna have to stay bc I’m not going for another wax till I’m ready and when I’m ready I’ll be going back to European wax center. Just not worth the trip or money to come here which is sucky bc I really wanted to love this place and make it my go to. Maybe I got them on an “off” night. Idk.
Ok, I’m updating my review to 1 star. I literally just got done tweezing most of the hairs I could even get to when I realized I literally have long hairs on one whole side of my labia. Like long hair! I can’t even tweeze those bc it’s too many and it would be beyond painful to do those individually. I am going to make an appointment with EWC and basically end up paying twice the amount for what should have been done in one wax appointment. Photo attached is from the SECOND day of tweezing individual hairs, I did the same amount when I got home that night. I now understand why other reviews mentioned getting a mirror to approve the wax after it was done bc I didn’t get a mirror, had I seen there I would have been able to ask for those hairs to be removed. I feel like this is the waxing version of the emperors...
Read moreI must have caught Alea on a bad day because from the beginning her body language told it all. First of all this was my first and LAST visit. A friend recommended this place of business. And I love to support small businesses especially people of color. The bed had a bare latex covering, red flag #1. Then, a mesh pillow that everyone lays on with no cover, who knows if previous clients have head lice, etc. The floors had sticky wax on it. The wax pots had dried wax, God knows when that’s been cleaned. No sanitary wipes available to wipe before or after the service. Nevertheless, let’s proceed. This woman slapped a bunch of hot wax on me, then transitioned to soft wax without notifying me. When I asked why is she using soft wax she said “it’s to pick up the short hairs”. I know when you’re waxing you’re suppose to apply pressure but hers was way too excessive. Okay no problem she continued to slap even more wax. I kindly asked if she could do my stomach strip she got annoyed and said it’s an extra $10 as if I was asking for a free service. Now that she’s finished, she said go ahead and check if everything is okay, I lift my leg up and there was a patch of hair still there. She got agitated and aggressively added more wax and proceeded to rip it off. Mind you she’s asked if I am satisfied, I checked and she got annoyed with me. You cannot make this up.
This lady has never met me in her life and was so rude. Besides this I still gave her a tip. That’s fine I will never return. Y’all stay away from...
Read moreGood Day, I am starting this review off by saying that I am a NYS certified wax technician, and I have went to multiple wax spots previously and I have never experienced such a terrible and hurtful experience at Indulge Wax. My waxer, Alea started off my wax and used hard wax, she applied her first strip then she used the soft wax after. I realized that she has poor judgement when it comes to what wax she should be using. She used the Muslin strip and the soft wax DID NOT COME OFF. Then she tried again and it left remnants of wax. She continued on with the service and I realized the wax she applied to my skin was extremely hot, I’m not sure if my skin was overly sensitive or that my skin was taken off with the soft wax. As an African American with course hair, Hard wax is best for Brazilians. Multiple times she had applied over the same area which was unacceptable. This can lead to sensitivity and irritation bumps/ ingrowns. As the service continued she got lazy, I looked and the strips are all over the place.(connected to other wax strips). You are supposed to pull opposite of hair growth which she also didn’t do. This made it seem like she was very unprofessional. Usually I don’t complain about my service but this is definitely something that I had to make known. And for others to know before they go through what I...
