PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON A COUCH FROM HERE. I will try to make this review as short as I can. First, I will talk about my experience then I will talk about the couch itself. When I first ordered a couch from Interior Define, the lead time was 8-10 weeks. I reached out asking about getting expedited shipping which they said they could not do but they said my couch should arrive in October. Then they increased the lead time to 10-12 after I made the order but was still hopeful I would at least get it in 10 weeks. A few weeks go by and I used the tracking system in my account to get an update and nothing had changed. Another week goes by and I'm now getting worried because it still says it hasn't even been made yet. I reach out to customer service and days later (their email response time estimates 10-14 days) I get an email saying that my couch is done being made and should be getting on a boat soon to the LA Distribution center. So now I know I can't rely on their tracking system. By now my couch is already delayed by weeks. They give me a date on when the couch should arrive at the center and it's late again by 9 days. Weeks go by and finally I get a call to schedule delivery. They say 8am-6pm on Friday. Thursday comes around and I get a call saying deliver is expected between 8am-12pm the next day. Since they don't help you remove the old couch that you are most likely replacing with this new one, I had to get rid of it Thursday night to make room for the new one in the morning. Friday morning comes around and I get a call at 10am telling me my couch isn't actually at the warehouse and is still on a truck from LA which wouldn't arrive until Tuesday! So I had to go 4 days during the weekend without a couch. Which was a terrible experience. The couch finally arrived and was assembled. But this couch took 18 WEEKS TO BE DELIVERED. WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 10 AND THEN 12 AT THE MOST. I reached out to complain and they have only offered a 10% discount for the couch being over a month late and the delivery mess up. They blame COVID and said they are having all these distribution and deliver chain issues but keep sending multiple emails a day with all these sales to entice customers to purchase furniture but aren't being transparent about all the delays that they are going to have. I did not enjoy my experience ordering from Interior Define. The 10-14 lead time for a response on emails just makes it that much more frustrating. Now the couch review itself: It's nothing special. I got the 3 seat right bumper Winslow sectional. I paid extra for a double down blend cushion to make it more comfortable and I don't think it's that much more comfortable. The two most disappointing things are these. There is a stick under the couch in the middle to keep it from breaking but it's this ugly non polished wood that doesn't match the pretty oiled walnut curved wood legs of the couch. Second disappointment is that you have to snap in the couch to the other side since it is a sectional. This would be fine if it didn't always come loose and need to be pushed back together every single day. It's just me and my husband and we don't do anything for the couch to always be pulled apart. This is a construction flaw that needs to be fixed. I thought I was spending a premium price for a premium product with premium customer service. This was definitely not the case and I don't recommend this company.
UPDATE: As you can see below, they reached out apologizing about the problem I have been having with my couch and asked me to reach out to their customer services team. I did that and still have not gotten a response and don't plan on it. I believe this company wants to care about their customers and fix their issues but just doesn't have the bandwidth to do so but doesn't let the customer know so until they...
Read moreREAD BEFORE ORDERING FURNITURE FROM THIS COMPANY My husband and I ordered furniture from Interior Define in May of 2022, paid in full, and have not received the majority of my order. As it stands now, we have lost $5,472. Our furniture was manufactured, delivered to the United States, is still being sold by Interior Define, and yet our efforts to be made whole - either by getting our furniture delivered to us or in the form of a refund or credit toward a new purchase - have failed. Beware - this could happen to you! The beginning of our journey with Interior Define was uneventful - we received regular updates when our furniture was produced and shipped to the US. Our expectations about delivery were managed - we understood there were post-Covid shipping complications. Then the news broke this time last year that Interior Define was entering the Assignment For Benefit of Creditors process. However, we were optimistic given the fact that there was a new owner of the company, and our furniture had been manufactured and was simply awaiting delivery. In early February 2023, one of the pieces of furniture I ordered - a couch - was delivered. This gave us confidence that the remaining pieces would also be delivered. Our confidence was supported by regular updates by Interior Define stating that our furniture - which was manufactured - would be delivered. In April 2023, the story changed and we were advised to file a claim with the Assignee; this claim was denied. We also filed a fraud claim with our bank, it was denied due to the length of time since our purchase. So here we are: out $5,472, missing 6 of the pieces of furniture we ordered, with no recourse. With the recent failure of another furniture company, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, it is clear that these companies operate without regard to the consumers who are impacted. This could happen to you. My recommendations are: to shop carefully; to order from a company which manufactures its products in the United States; to order from a company that does not have a history of failing its consumers; order from a company that will do the right thing and make consumers who were defrauded whole. Do not order from...
Read moreWe ordered a sectional and chair and after the several weeks/months it takes to build , it arrived not measured correctly and legs that weren’t on tight and chair that legs were broken . We took photos, spoke to the salesman in the NY store who sold it to us, and all were in agreement the measurements were off for the sofa, and chair and sofa legs seemed not sturdy. A replacement was ordered, and finally after months, was told our new sofa and chair was coming and old ones will be taken. The delivery company arrives, unwraps sofa and breaks down boxes, and we say wait first take out old sofa . They say no we weren’t told it was replacement can’t do that, and proceed to wrap up our new sofa and chair and piece together broken boxes, and drive off. Meanwhile i have calls and communication confirming this was a replacement , and don’t worry all taken care of! I call the store and they say oh yes this is not right and will take care of this, and promise a call right back , and nothing. I call store again and say what awful customer service to not follow up when promised and them knowing what happened , and still no resolution. i am waiting as told within hour I will hear from them . Meanwhile the sofa is not comfortable, if you shift slightly in your seat , the entire sofa moves and feels unsteady. We will hope the new sofa , whenever we get it after waiting months, is better than this one not made /measured correctly!! This is not good customer service , follow through or communication .We regret the purchase of this sectional and we will be waiting for how this is going to be rectified . Very frustrating to say the least .
as an update … it has now been hours since this debacle happened , and i asked for a call back within the hour to give me a status update. Nothing. The excuse was it’s their busiest day of the year. Truly incredible and lack of awareness what makes good customer service and how to show you care, are sorry and working to resolve this . Reading so many negative reviews on google, just makes me mad we didn’t do more homework before we purchase this furniture. Lesson learned . Stunned we haven’t heard back...
