Completely inept organization.
I handed the camp director my daughter's medical form in person almost two months prior to her starting the camp. I checked in with the main office numerous times over the two months asking why it still showed as still missing for my child. Every single time I was told that they were still being uploaded and that it would be fine. I was told just 24 hours before she was starting, and only because I called them, that it is in fact missing and that my daughter cannot start camp. With an extremely demanding job I was not able to track down a new form from her doctor in just one day, and the camp director knew that I did not have a copy as I explained to him when I handed it to him that we came straight from the doctor and had no back up.
I fully expected a refund because this was their fault, and I was assured that I would have that refund sent priority by a certain date. When I did not receive it on that date I contacted them and was told that I would receive it soon. I asked for a tracking number and was completely ignored. They have total disregard for the fact that I had to find alternative childcare with 24 hours notice and that I had to pay that childcare. These were high level individuals handling the refund at this point - the CEO himself could not be bothered to provide efficient customer service to someone whom their organization dropped the ball on. Refund has still not been received.
This is our first experience with Kids in the Game and this ordeal has shown me just how disorganized and inept this camp is. The camp director is the only one who has shown compassion and remorse; the main office are the ones who lost the form and have been dishonest and completely unhelpful. We have been using other summer camps for 5 years and this has never happened to us! Save yourself the headache and choose...
Read moreWe are SOOO sad this camp season is ending bc it's been just so much fun for our little guy! It's even been fun for me as a mom to read the daily emails and see the fun and new, exciting activities and themes going on every day of the week, and watch what a blast all the kids are having! It's always something new and exciting going on, which is important for kids! The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and it's obvious how much they truly love kids and care for our littles, which as a parent is all i can ask for! Most especially was impressed with Riverdale Camp Director, Coach Tracey for his professional and always accommodating and friendly demeanor, and helping hand and attentiveness as every single turn. My positive experience was hugely shaped by his help and knowing i could come to him for anything bc he was always there to help and put my mind at ease. Equally impressive was Coach Tam, who greeted us everyday at drop off and pick up and was there to give detailed and attentive, real time feedback on how my son was enjoying activities and whether he napped ok that day etc, always with the biggest smile and most positive attitude and warm and nurturing vibes. Also big shout out to Coach Mariela and Coach Chris for always taking extra special care of my boy and making him laugh and light up with excitement to see them:) I believe it's truly hard work to make sure that both parents and campers feel happy, cared for, secure, reassured, trusting and excited about camp, and I would say it was a summer sucess and this is a very hard working and dedicated crew for sure! Read moreMy child started king camp 2018, at the Riverdale location. This corporate company took over our community camp and it's never been the same. Cons: *Staff lack compassion and sensitivity towards parents and there situations, Time, Financial, Work schedules. *Corporate take over *THE PRICES of camp went up so much its literally disgusting how they are taking advantage of Riverdale parents (all parents) but for us we literally have very few options in our neighborhood and they are completely taking advantage of the situation. Shame *This camp is not flexible with payments. Example They uses to let the parents pay the deposit and you can pay the rest each week, privilege GONE! *They give discounts after camp ends and it expires very early b4 summer even starts, who is paying for camp in November. *They want a doctor physical form every year, the problem is that it's hard to get an appointment with most doctors in the summer. And they won't take last year form, even if you have appointment approaching.BY THE WAY THEY WONT LET YOUR CHILD IN IF YOU DONT HAVE THE FORM. Staff is getting less friendly can barely get a good morning *They also up the start date of camp, so they can cut parent's off 3 weeks in August so you have to pay for the additional 3 weeks left. Or you'll have 3 weeks no child care
Pros: *Most of the staff is attentive and kind *Clean *Fun activities field trips just came back and 2020 and 2021 they did not...
