I’ve never felt compelled to write reviews for any place until now. I came in with a Lenovo laptop needing a simple hardware replacement. Before you read this review, keep in mind this laptop cost me $2,100 and is barely a year old. I was left with crooked screens (twice), multiple deep scratches on the exterior, and broken software.
The first time my screen was installed crooked here, I went to a different shop and paid $120 to have it realigned. When I came back here and confronted them about the screen being crooked, they tried to pin the blame on me saying that “the glue was probably loose and shifted in transport.” Despite knowing this was a lie, I had no way to prove it because I had not inspected the screen before taking it home with me. However, this makes absolutely no sense because why would you give the device back to me without notifying me of this potential issue? If the monitor is that sensitive to shifts in movement then that means the repair is not finished and should not be returned to me yet. Then when I had to come back here due to more hardware issues, I asked if they could add more tape to reinforce the screen, and the entire display seemed to be taken off and realigned as I came back to it crooked once again, essentially wasting the $120 I spent.
The screen is so poorly mounted and misaligned it’s almost comical — the entire monitor itself is even more unstable than it was previously. At this point, I would've appreciated the honesty stating that they didn't have the ability to align the screen because messing it up TWICE is ridiculous, and quite frankly embarrassing.
As for the scratches, I’m not a person to whine about one or two slight scratches–these are deep and there are A LOT of them. This is a $2100+ laptop. I don’t want to leave with more damage than when I came in originally. There’s simply no plausible reason for scratches this many and this deep unless it was done intentionally or zero care was put into handling. They’re so deep I can feel the ridge when I run my finger across the surface.
Regarding the software issues, I don’t understand how zero accountability can be taken when I experienced ZERO SOFTWARE ISSUES PRIOR to visiting this shop. Quite literally the only possible cause would be the shoddy reinstallation of all the internal hardware that was done here.
Oh, and the cherry on top. When I received my device back to me for the final time, I noticed a new symptom where my battery indicator was erratically flashing for no apparent reason. When I brought this up to them, they responded with indifference and stated that they didn't know the cause for it. Sir, what do you mean you don't know? This was caused by you, no?
The results of these “repairs” left me crying multiple times due to the sheer frustration and awe of the lack of care put in. I genuinely thought that coming to a registered service shop would speed up the repair process while also supporting a local business, but this entire process has disappointed me repeatedly and emotionally drained me. After over a month of back and forth, I ended up sending my device back to Lenovo directly due to the sheer multitude of issues I was left with.
If you need a repair/replacement that requires any level of craftsmanship or care, do not come here. Don't let all the high reviews mislead you because that's the biggest mistake I've made. Trust me when I say that there are no repair shops that will match the same level of care you have for your own device. Send it back to the manufacturer if you can, because at least then you can hold them accountable for damages. Overall, it was the lack of accountability and indifference from this shop that has left me with nothing but spite.
If anyone from this place would like to explain the dumpster fire I was left with then I'll gladly listen. because it has been offense after offense with the state my laptop...
Read moreI'm very happy that I found Lincoln Business Machines thanks to the helpful reviews here and the fact that they're an authorized Lenovo repair location. I have an older Lenovo Thinkpad no longer under warranty that had a "fan error" and Jose first tried cleaning it and when that didn't work, ordered and installed a new fan that corrected the problem. He also went above and beyond installing updates for the computer and removed three competing antivirus programs to replace them with a single better one to improve the computer's speed, which it has done.
Jose also gave options for further improving the computer's performance if desired and was frank about it not really making sense to do this in an older Thinkpad I have. Although he looks young, he has many years of experience and was very familiar with the older model even though it came out about 15 years ago.
Prices are fair and the place runs very efficiently - the other customers that I saw all...
