I booked a retiwst + repair service with Felisha Thomas, the owner and stylist, at the Flagship location on Empire Blvd. All together it was $217 and I went throught the normal routine of a wash, retwist, and repair.
I came to Felisha and this location specifically because of her experience and based on her Instagram, I trusted her to do my hair with attention and care.
I was wrong.
I left the salon happy to finally have my hair done and when I reached home and looked at my hair. I notice that there is still DANDRUFF in my locs.
So, I call her and tell her what Iāve found and she alluded to it being lint. However, I simply let her know that I scratched it and flakes are coming down. It is still dandruff in my locs. She says I can come the next day at 12:30 and sheāll wash and retwist my hair again.
Later on at around 5:30 PM, she asks for a picture and video and I send them. She says itās build up and that the only way to properly get it out is with a detox.
She mentions that I can come tomorrow or get a free acv treament at my next appointment. I ask can we do the treatment tomorrow?
She respondsā Tomorrow I will not be able to accomodate the acv because of my schedule and it aquires extra time.ā
I ask her when can she because I paid a lot of money to come from getting my hair done and still have dandruff still in it.
In all of my three years of growing my locs I have never had build up. I just moisturize my locs with water and thats it. My hair is always covered with a satin scarf and I donāt lay down without my bonnet.

Felisha being completely honest even with the repairs, I left with two locs needing to be fixed so Iām not sure what other locs besides the 6 that were needed ( which I counted the night before) needed a repair. I go through my hair often and I know that I did not have 10 locs that needed repair. This could have been prevented if I was asked which locs needed the repair.
In regard to the wash being included and not the ACV treatment, Iām just not following how even with a wash that there were still flakes of dandruff still in my hair. Thatās something can be worked out with a wash. I have never had this problem before. As a high paying customer, I would think that when you see dandruff still in my hair that you will try to get it out. Or tell me what the issue is. You started retwisting my locs while wet and still didnāt say anything.
When I first called, you said it was lint. I canāt scratch lint and flakes start to fall.
I have never had this problem before and never had a lot of build up for it not to be washed out. My hair was not washed properly and it does not matter if I got the ACV treatment or not because either way the wash wasnāt thorough enough as it should have been, for almost every loc to still have build up.
How do you expect me to pay an additional fee for something that you noticed while retwisting my hair which WAS included in my service and didnāt even mention that I still had dandruff in my hair. Thatās the principle and for $200, you as a locitican will tell their client whatās up with their hair.
Also now I would have to pay an additional fee if I want the ACV treatment? although you just offered it for free yesterday?
Respectfully, a good time or not, I still came to get my hair washed throughly, retwisted, and my problem locs repaired.
Yet I left with two locs that I really needed, still not repaired and dandruff still in my locs.
Itās not me, itās your washing process which needs to be updated.
You do not have to worry about me coming back to the salon because I will never come being back nor recommending anyone to come.
I do NOT recommend this to place to anyone who wants to leave with their hair clean.

Once i question her statement, then to proceed to tell me that i don't know what type of weirdos come into the shop. it wasn't until I explained how insulting she was being til she felt the need to stop and offer and apology
this to me is all out of left field and out of the way disrespectful because she has been doing my hair for some time now. & This behavior has not been seen before.
Started to feel if she was showing off. Making me feel out of place and awkward. Like she had an Agenda.
UPDATE: The Shop has reached out to me. text attached below. ~ Lead not unto your own understanding. So heres wat was concluded from the text.
1 - You didn't know or you did know?
2- You thought everything was ok but not once stepped in to ask if it was ok.
3- Bringing our color and who we are in this when it has no substance it speaks volume
4- Contacting me with no call to action on my behalf but a call to action on your behalf is astonishing to say the least
5- It did not look good on you all's behalf from the beginning when you sat there and did not step in with a simple " just checking in is everything ok?" or Telling her to watch what she was saying directly from the time I returned back in and she had a problem with me coming back in the shop on my own " i see you didn't wait you just came back up in here on your own" as chelsea stated. When I'm there at my scheduled time after arriving 20mins early and checking in. (yes its more to the story i tried to minimize points to save face however the race card was the wrong play you were there you know the TRUTH)
No need for the back and forth. I do not agree with how I was treated or how it was handled from the Professional stand point. I left a review about it. which is my right and you all did nothing which was also in your right

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell I must say I live in Queens and travelled an hour to get to Locd And Braided. I reached out to them and within minutes my concerns were addressed. My hair needed rescuing and they actually booked me the next day. They were punctual, welcoming and the place was very clean. My wash was superb as my head felt very very light afterwards. Love the team work and that's makes it even more effective.
I did the Instant Loc and I am feeling very happy about it. Felisha did very well with my hair and of course All-star assisted and they made a great team. Locd And Braided is a keeper so I will be back in 6 weeks!
