I used to take this class when they were located in Tribeca (before the hype) and enjoy it but now I can’t say the same. Feels extremely pretentious and cold. Greeting guest and making people feel warm and welcomed should be the bare minimum especially in a yoga studio. I inquired several times about teacher training but never received any response. I even flew into New York, inquired again in person, waited after class for the owner Bethany in hopes to maybe get more information but was told she was too busy to see me. Taking 5 minutes to acknowledge someone who does not live in state, has called several times and completed the online form would have taken very little effort but then again clearly not. I shrugged off the lack of regard and returned the next day, paying for another class and waiting once more. The class was empty with maybe 8 people total, there really wasn’t an excuse. Perhaps yesterday was an off day … but unfortunately it was just the same, a total lack of regard. Having been the only black person in the class two days in a row and seeing Bethany’s interaction as well as another instructor engage with other guests made me feel like an outcast and uncomfortable. I was disappointed by the staffs behavior but I quickly understood the cult like vibe. Among many things yoga represents fluidity, mindfulness and community.

This is a true Baptiste studio with the sequencing and consistency you can nearly always expect. Hot and challenging, with a constant focus on the integration of breath and movement.
Maisie is an excellent instructor. Great cues and timing really enjoyed her personality and command of the room.
Visited two other studios on this trip to NYC. They just do not compare in any way, shape or form.
Make this your stop whether you live here or are visiting!
Have been practicing for many years, and have been to many places throughout the country and world (for what that is worth).
The beauty of Baptiste is that beginner or experienced, you will have the time to find your way into a pose, with or without modification, or taking a pose into a more...
Read morelove Lyon's Den! I have a lot more energy throughout my week by practicing yoga and this studio makes everything about hot yoga better. The teachers are amazing and it's so clean and I love that they always have candy and matches! The locker rooms are beautiful and stocked with towels, q tips, face wash, etc. High end feel, but everyone can come and practice. Even if you're new to yoga, you can definitely follow along in class easily. I always recommend Lyon's Den and I'm thankful the Chelsea location is...
