UPDATE: Updating my review from 2 stars to 4 stars since the owner was kind enough to invite me back for a redo. It was a much better experience this time. A different nail tech did my nails and she was gentle with my hands. Got a different color that looks a lot better and cleaner. Very shiny, and it looks like it’ll hold up (the old pink gel barely lasted a week) I appreciate the owner reaching out to me to try to make it right. Original review below:👇🏾 First time coming. I don't know if I'll go back or try another location but it just wasn't what I was expecting. I accidentally went to the 23rd street location first and that location seemed to be bigger and the front desk was very nice, so maybe I'll try there. This review is for the 17th street 8th ave location. Got a Japanese gel manicure ($60) The photos I'm attaching is right after the service was complete. Overall it was messy, rushed, and bits are already flaking and peeling off. The entire process was super rushed and a little painful from start to finish, but I have social anxiety and it makes it really hard to voice my complaints at the time. I had some gel polish that needed to be soaked off but they were quickly drilled away. No soaking. Nails felt thin and fragile afterwards, and she kept saying how thin my nails were. Onto the actual manicure. She was very rough with my cuticles and kept nicking me with the drill. I chose a pink that came out very streaky, lumpy, and a bit uneven in some places. I wanted to also get a design but the nail technician seemed so over it that I gave up asking. The UV light really burned, because she was rushing and using too thick coats. At my request, she had to redo and clean up a couple nails because there was polish all over my skin. Hands felt really dry afterwards too. Finally, when it came time to pay she presented me with the bill and kind of... hurried me to pay. But since I did a lot of research (and this is also advertised) first time customers get 15% off. She knew this, but she didn't think I knew about it. So when I brought it up, only then did she apply the discount. Overall, it was rushed, messy, and a bit painful. Really disappointing, I don't get my nails done often so I was really looking forward to a fairly nice experience...

I had a pretty rough afternoon when my regular nail salon canceled on me, so I decided to try a new place. I was feeling all over the place trying to figure out what to do. I originally wanted hard gel, then changed my mind. I felt like they had no patience, and on top of that, they started speaking in their own language, which made me feel even worse. I got there at 4:50 for a gel manicure and was out by 5:15 – the quickest appointment ever. It felt super rushed, and they didn’t take their time .When I went to pay, they assumed I was paying by card, but I said I’d pay in cash. The lady mentioned it was still going to be the same price, which I wasn’t looking for a discount, but it just added to my frustration. After a really rough afternoon, this just made it worse. I definitely won’t be going back.

2 hours, a botched job that had to be redone. And then, she wanted a tip!!! You’ve got to be kidding me. They tried to upsell the “tiger-eye”, or something… We kept on saying it didn’t look good, they said no, it is good, but it wasn’t!! They had to take it off eventually and put the gel on. 3 days later and the gel is already coming off the nails. It is meant to last a month!! Never had such a bad job, $100 for a job we already have to fix, the gel is so bad on 1 thumb you can see what we have had to do )and still it chops off!)

This was confusing. They have a 15% off special if you come during the week from 10 to 4.. I came at 11:15 and asked if they could do gel tips and nail art and a pedicure. They said they could do the gel tips and nail art and get me out by 1250 and maybe I’ll see the pedicure. I told him I really had to leave and finish the payment and everything by 1250 so if they could do it, I could start.

So they did the tips and first they filed the nails, but they were a little raggedy and they didn’t claim the nails and remove the cuticles so I asked about that and they said it didn’t matter, but I asked if they could please make sure my nails weren’t raggedy before they put the tips on. So she filed them. Then she said she would do the cuticles after so I said OK. Then she started doing my cuticles . Then she put the tips on and took about two extra minutes to do the cuticles a little bit again.

Then at the end the skin was still rough by the nail and look white and it hadn’t been removed properly. So she said she would do it after the procedure. So she did it and there wasn’t enough time for nail art so I asked to come back the next day.

Then I went to pay and they charge me for the tips without the 15% discount so I asked them if they could please apply it and the girl said oh yeah and added it. We had already discussed the discount when I entered and there were only two other customers in the salon so it was disappointing. She didn’t apply it.

Then I asked about returning the next day if I would still get the 50% discount for the nail art because they had told me they could complete it in time but then they didn’t. They told me it was because they did the cuticles twice and it took 10 minutes. With the little bit of cuticle remover twice more than two or three minutes and she had to do it twice because she chose to and she hadn’t completely done it either time.

Then I went to pay and she asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. I thought that was bad manners.

She said she could not apply the 15% discount for nail art the next day because it’s only for your first time. But I told her she had said they could do the nail art along with the tips and get me out in time, but they didn’t do it. She just kept saying it was because the cuticles were done twice.

I think some better customer service and conduct of business communication and understanding would really help this business.

I decided not to return for the nail art or a pedicure, I can get it done...

This place is absolutely disgusting I don't even know where to start. Firstly I called the day before to schedule my appointment for 9:30am which the lady on the phone said she booked for me, she told me they open at 9:30am. I arrived at 9:30am the doors were locked and I stood outside for half hour , eventually at 10:10am I called because there was a lady inside who just ignored me while I was waiting outside the door. She picked up the phone and I told her I have a 9:30am appointment for a manicure and pedicure, she just laughed and opened the door and told me to pick a color . I was looking for ballet slippers which they did not have and was really odd because it's a popular color. I just gave her my own to use. The pedicure was dreadful, I asked her to cut my nails but she was hurting me and cut them so short nearly ripping the skin off my toes I had to tell her to stop. When my manicure and pedicure was done she asked if I'm paying cash or card. I told her card, she said no one in the establishment knows how to use the credit card machine and that I would have to wait for the manager to arrive at 12pm so I could pay. What a joke ! the place is also dirty and disorganized. She then suggested I leave my credit card number with her . Are you freaking kidding me! I told her I'll go find an ATM to get the cash and she agreed but watched my every move like I was going to not come back and pay. My manicure chipped today and is peeling off , I will never ever return , nobody is competent in the salon because when I gave her my cash to pay she did not know how to use the cash register . Worst experience! They need some serious help They don't deserve one star . QQ NAILS YOU ARE PATHETIC WASTE OF TIME...
