I will not recommend this service to anyone because those people are lairs, they trick you into buying the service. They follow a business approach known as "Bait and switch" which is a form of unlawful fraud, where they trick you to buy certain number of hours like 28 in a classroom, but you end up with less than half of that number of hours. They seem to target international customers/students because of the institute assume that those target groups cannot do anything to retaliate or sue them. They do not have a refund policy. The teaching staff are terrible and not up to the standards you may expect. I am saying this as an Instructor myself who has gone through a lot of teaching training. P lease do not make this mistake. I am sharing so that more people know about this so that you can save your money and maybe find a better service than the one provided here. If you sign up with the long course of 28 hours, you will end up with 12 or a max of 16 after fighting with them of online sessions, and you cannot refuse it because there is no refund. So you suck it up and end up buying. I feel I have been manipulated and deceived into buying a service that does not meet the standards. Quality of Instructors: 1- Basically, MEP will place your randomly with low quality tutors who do GRE, TOFEL, SAT and so many subjects. Of course very poor quality compared to the price you pay. I was placed with someone who was really not that good. Then, I was handed over to another person to teach me Math, same thing. Quality of teaching: 1- It is really not worth the money you spent. Those people are basically scamming and ripping people off by paying low quality tutors some little money while they keep the rest (Which is probably 100000 double that price) Claire is a good instructor, but I think MEP are double charging the customers using "Bait" and Switch" technique
Please do not make the same mistake! I have received all the sessions I paid for but I would, and I learned something from Claire, but as I said, the admin of this institute is just a money generating machine that feeds on the needs of those who have dreams of completing their studies in the US.
I have done my MA in the US, and I would say what MEP does not reflect the values of any of the higher...
Read moreI paid for Manhattan Testprep's TOEFL program back in May 2018. The program was advertised as a package of TOEFL test preparation classes taught by (i) experienced instructors with intimate TOEFL knowledge (ii) in a group setting meant to maximize the student's learning experience. Upon payment, Manhattan Testprep's sent an off the shelf questionnaire designed to place me in an upcoming session, at which point I clearly mentioned my anticipated test date in two months of July 2018. Manhattan Testprep failed to place me in a session that matched the requirements per the questionnaire as they did not have group sessions available. In fact, Manhattan Testprep forced me to compromise for a completely different private tutoring package that failed to provide the unique benefits advertised with group preparation. Without any alternative options provided by Manhattan Testprep, I was asked to attend the private tutoring sessions (ii) not in a group setting but (i) taught by an experienced TOEFL instructor. After two introductory sessions with the assigned instructor, I learnt this instructor had absolutely no experience teaching the TOEFL. This clearly contradicts the terms and condition of Manhattan Testprep's TOEFL preparation program offering. With the upcoming July 2018 test date and Manhattan Testprep failure to honor the terms and conditions, I was forced to promptly cancel the program and seek a full refund. The refund was requested on June 8 2018.
Manhattan Testprep argued against any refund as per their refund policy, which was only shared as reference after I filed the dispute. Furthermore, with regards to any policy reference, it's only valid if and only if the merchant renders its promised product or service. In this particular case, Manhattan Testprep falsely advertised a program offering and failed to deliver the promised service. This kind of behavior is deceptive...
Read moreI recieved one on one GRE tutoring from Manhattan Elite Prep. It was very expensive but I cannot argue with the results. On the first diagnostic exam that I took by myself, my score was V 169 Q 158. My math score was unacceptable given the Masters programs I wanted to enter. I met with my instructor, Laurel Adams, twice a week for 5 weeks, for I believe 2-3 hours a session or something like that. In that time, she had me do problems in a drill type environment, timed and untimed. We would examine which types of problems I had trouble with and she would assign me those types of problems. In addition, she assigned me homework and examined any other practice exams I took. Her mentorship was invaluable. As well, Manhattan Elite Prep provides a number of online practice exams that mimic the setting and procedure of the real exam and draw each section from a pool of questions. This was an invaluable study aid and I took all of them. In the interest of fairness I will mention that besides the assistance from Manhattan Elite Prep, I studied for 2-3 hours a day on average for about a month and a half before the exam, sometimes none but sometimes for 6-7 hours at a stretch. Sometimes I would take multiple practice exams in a day, or do 150+ practice math problems. My final score on the exam was a V 168 Q 167 AWA 5.5, which means in total I missed 5 questions on the exam. Whether or not I would have gotten those questions right was almost entirely a matter of luck or uncommon aptitude. I doubt, however, I would have achieved such a high math score without tutoring from Laurel and the resources of MEP. This score is within or close to the median of the top programs in my field of interest and indeed in any field. Therefore I would recommend Manhattan Elite Prep to driven students who are willing to spend extra in order to achieve uncommonly...
