Miss Nails — Local services in New York

I went in for my usual- gel nails. The lady doing my nails filed wet gel (over top) and a few other things that let me know she was new’ish. Several colleagues corrected her along the way and I was all for her learning process. They were not of Miss Nails typical standard by a long shot but it also took us 3 hours to sit through her process and corrections. I wasn’t happy with them ally alll but I was tired from being in there so long. I took a picture immediately and called several times to let them know of the quality issue. They were bumpy and thick/wavy. I loved this place and the team. However- paying $130 plus tip for a set of nails that were NOT quality was upsetting. I spoke to the team and they offered to fix it! I was thrilled! I was so pleased that I booked two other services as a gesture of my appreciation. After the correction and two services- I was so disheartened to learn that I had to pay the entire fee again!!!! And pay for the replacement nails (that should NOT have popped off) annnnd pay for “the color change”!!! They had to take the polish off to correct the goopy wave. Anyways- I will never return after being told to come down for a correction- and then as I was paying discovered my budget for the visit was in fact double what I expected due to extra cost. End of story- I had to pay DOUBLE for their mistake and lost a great spot that my family and I once was committed to. If you want high quality- find another place. I’ll miss you guys but having the staff welcome themselves to my wallet so manipulatively isn’t trustworthy or good business. Ps Wendy- I love love love the new set. Your work is great but I felt so violated and misled....

I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. The lady I had was really sweet. I don’t even want to mention her name because I genuinely think she did her best. She was slow…I was there for almost two hours, but whatever anyone needs to do a good job and I wasn’t in a rush. Bc my person was moving slower, the manager started to get onto her and this caused her to speed up the process and clearly get flustered. Once we were done and I was walking home, I inspected the work and I can only describe it as janky. Very disappointing.

I tried this place bc my usual spot closed (rip noble nail) but it was just not up to normal standard. While I was there no less than 3 people complained about quality so I’m actually really surprised to see so many raving reviews here. I won’t be back. I guess I’ll have to try another spot...

I’ve been going here for months and the service the last few times has been inconsistent. I recently went in for a gel manicure and it took 1 hr 25 min. Another client came in for a gel manicure after me and was done 15 minutes before I was. She also cut one of my nails ridiculously shorter than the others and I had to request her to straighten out my nails more than once because they were filed at a crooked angle. And the polish across my nails is inconsistent, some are painted at a thinner angle and some are bubble like. I really wanted to like the place, it is clean and the staff are all nice but I would prefer to pay for a service if I know I’m going to like...
