We went the week of the Pittsburg shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue. It was also the week of a series of pipe bombing attempts and a hate crime shooting (man tried to enter a predominately black church but later killed two people in a grocery store). Prayers were offered for the Pittsburg shooting and there will be a convening tomorrow to pray for victims, but the entire sermon was about 12th century Hildegard of Bingen. The concert had a line up of singers doing art songs, opera arias & African America spirituals. The concert concluded with a performance of Mozart's Requiem with soloists, chorus & orchestra conducted by Maestro Gurer Aykal. The church had a full and the concert was well received.
