Went to Midsummer Night's Dream performance yesterday at St Jean's Theater and was impressed by the originality of their rendering of a Shakespeare play we all like to watch in the summer. Keeping the spirit of the play alive and the story intact, the company was innovative too. It integrated ballet, narration, and live music to accompany the dancers by acclaimed pianist Cenovia Cummins.
The choreography and the skill of the dancers effectively rendered the evocative music of Debussy at the first part of the performance. It was a delight to see, and hear. The more intense music of Mendelssohn accompanied a different choreography as the dancers combined dancing to theatrical performance to do justice to the play! And that they did.
The intimacy of the theater which allowed the audience to see the faces of the dancers, so rare in a ballet performance, added to the play. Their costumes were superb for their simplicity and elegance, allowing the dancers to float accross the stage.
Bravo City Dance NY! It was an excellent show! Looking forward to...

Now Comes The Fun Part Excellent Excellent Excellent. The performers were wonderful singers and actors with a little dance. It was a basic show with minimal costumes and no scenery. When the actors came out with books and reading their lines I was not very optimistic. Boy was I wrong. The show was super laugh out loud funny. It was all about getting older and life changes. I'm sorry this was that last night it would be great for more people to experience this show. Keep an eye out if it comes around again it is...

It sent me in the wrong direction. I understand this happened to others. The only way we found the venue was to search by venue name rather...
