Sidenote: I should've read the reviews and noticed the reason why clients like it here is for the eyelash/eyebrow services. Our overall experience was very confusing and disappointing. Bottom line: would not recommend this place. Read on for full review. Booking: When I called to make reservations, the front desk person was fun and so helpful. My friend and I booked 90-minutes massages, mani and pedi for a much-needed spa day. Background: We work seven days a week and were really looking forward to this self-care experience. We requested female massage therapists. Arrival: When we arrived in person, the greeting was not warm or friendly. We were quickly ushered by David to the massage rooms. We had no idea who he was nor his role at the spa. My friend is younger than me and he advised my friend to head into the massage room. He ended up being a massage therapist. I didn't like that he didn't explain himself to us and that he chose my younger friend. Why? I was barely greeted by my massage therapist. Maybe she's having a rough morning, I said to myself. Although I appreciated the time she took on my shoulders, she didn't introduce herself. She didn't ask me what I would like her to focus on. She didn't even ask me to flip over to massage the front body. Remember, I paid for a 90-minute massage! In the many years I've gotten massages, I've never had someone massage both sides of the body. The therapist confirmed I was getting a pedicure and said she would wait outside the door. She was nowhere to be found when I opened the door. Why? Pedicures: While we were sitting next to each other, I noticed two female staff members walk by to look at my friend's tattoos and make judgy faces underneath their masks. Two days later my friend's polish chipped. Why? The nail technicians didn't engage us in conversation and barely looked our way. The vibe felt distant and cold. Why? Manicure: My friend got the manicure and felt like the nail tech was in a hurry. Two days later my friend's polish chipped. Why? Atmosphere: Quiet and uncomfortable. No music. Just people getting through the day. No excitement. Why? Customer service: Could use a lot of improvement in this department - how about smiling? Making small talk? Playing music? Being grateful? I will definitely tell my friends to think twice before booking services here and spending their hard-earned money to find relaxation and...
Read moreI came here for a lash re-fill appointment with over 50% of my lashes from my previous session. I booked an appointment online and chose the $90 3-week fill option. I was waiting for over 30 minutes to be seen despite having an appointment.
When it was time to pay, a lady working the front desk charged me $180 with no prior warning. She had walked past me 4-5 times while I was waiting for over 30 minutes without mentioning to me ONCE that I would be paying twice as much as what I had booked for. She waited until my fill was complete, and I had no choice but to pay. Any other lash tech would have agreed to a fill by just taking a glance at my lash retention, and even if they didn’t, they would have at least given me a heads up that I would be paying double before it’s all said and done. Owner had multiple chances to tell me what the outcome would be, but completely shocked me with the final price with zero communication!! She didn’t say anything prior to the fill being completed, because she probably knew that I would have cancelled on the spot.
I am sick to my stomach that this happened; I have been getting my lashes done elsewhere for over 5+ years and can attest that I have never had such a negative experience anywhere else. I can not believe there are actually businesses out there who would do this to their customers, treating them as if their valuable money is disposable. Never coming here again, and I will be sure to disclose this information as a warning to everyone I know in the city looking for a...
Read moreReceived a basic mani. Layout is similar to how it was when owned by Top Nails but now the rear area has booths for lashes and spa/massage services.
Overall hygiene not flawless - tech pulled out a used nail file but opened a new disposable kit to use the buffer (but not the new included file which looked lower quality than the used file)). Top Nails often used sterile packaged tools from an autoclave but I did not see that here - it’s very possible I just didn’t notice it with the layout differences. Tech did not use a stone to buff/clean up the skin at my finger tips/under my nail edges, which I am used to.
Tech was meticulous in shaping my nails and checking to make sure her shaping was consistent - went back to fix two edges when she checked them over after filing. Her application of polish was neat & careful and she gave a great hand massage.
Unexpectedly, my manicure lasted about 3 days longer than usual.
While I’d like to see better oversight on up-front sterilization of tools, overall the space was clean and tidy and my tech was very detail oriented. For the price, this was...
