Myrtle Pharmacy — Local services in New York

The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is out of respect for the two women who work there — whenever they are around, you’ll be treated with top-notch professionalism. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of the staff.

Whenever the tall gentleman pharmacist is present, I make it a point to walk right out. My wife recently picked up a prescription and was given the wrong medication.

The front of the store isn’t much better. You can be waiting in line for a long time, even with just a couple of items in your hands, while the two boys at the counter chat with each other instead of ringing customers up.

My advice: If you need to shop in this pharmacy or pick up medications, do so only when the two ladies are working. You will be in and out with...

I needed a prescription filled and opted to have the local mom and pop shop (Myrtle Pharmacy) do it to support Main Street businesses. After some confusion because the pharmacy didn't have one of the medicines I needed that night, I went to Walgreens. Later that night, I went back by Myrtle Pharmacy to try and buy the two remaining meds I needed, and the men behind the counter refused to count out the 35 pills I needed with an hour before the shop closed. To be clear, I needed the meds that night, I had a prescription, they had the meds, and wouldn't sell them to me. I will never buy anything from this store again. Walgreens stayed open an extra 15 minutes to fill my prescription. 2 stars because my fiance has had decent experiences...

I've been a customer here for many, many years. I've always received excellent service! The lead pharmacist, David, is a nice gentleman who will work with you closely. He advises you about how to take/use your medications clearly, and how to navigate insurance in order to get you your medications when you need them, e.g. during the holidays, times of travel, etc. The pharmacy can get busy at times, so I'd advise calling ahead especially if you're a new customer just coming in for the first or second time. Going during "off-peak" times will help diminish your wait. But, remember, they're a small business, so they're naturally only able to handle so much at a time.
