I Had a great time at this place. I was almost about to go to that other Thai place on the same block but my Yelp app steered me here! Yelp always comes through. This place was empty, save for an idling server sitting and a guy charging his phone at a table. But I wasn't deterred. It was Sunday before Labor Day. The beach not the concrete jungle of NY had the attention of the masses and understandably so. The weather was perfect. But I was hungry after my haircut and I wanted to eat nearby so I could have a long walk back to subway and get my exercise. I had two mixed drinks (Jungle juice and One Night in Bangkok)here and both of them were expertly crafted. The fried calamari appetizer was nothing special but it was good. The main course. Pineapple fried rice with shrimp was amazing. Rice cooked perfectly as were the shrimp. The portion was enough for leftovers. My server Marissa was very attentive. My water stayed full and my table was cleared frequently. She asked if everything was fine during every visit to my table. I cannot say enough about how delicious the fried rice was. A perfect 100 for Thai 101.

alrighty, I gotta start out by saying I don’t EVER review places, but my bsf + I used to be in Pratt and we ALWAYS visited this cute gem — I felt obligated to give a review not only cus of how good the food was, but because of how badly our server was being treated. the table next to us kept asking him for reccommendations then GOT MAD AT HIM for giving his opinion. and then they got angry because he wouldn’t give them free food?? I digress, but STOP TREATING YOUR SERVERS LIKE SLAVES BECAUSE YOU’RE ON A POWER TRIP!!!!!!! Thai 101 was amazing, the portions were great (gen so filling, hadn’t ate all day and I still feel satisfied) and we are definitely coming back 💕 ayden if you’re seeing this we love you + you’re an amazing waiter + I’m so sorry you had to deal with that woman!!! don’t ever let horrible people like that get to you and keep that positivity up - nicollete, erika, and bronya

Stay Away. I realize this negative review would appear more convincing if I gave a moderate two or three stars, but how can you give ANY stars to a restaurant that serves food which seems to include rotten ingredients? I bit into a shrimp that tasted like rancid, spoiled meat. A thoroughly disgusting flavor. I had to spit it out into a napkin to keep from gagging. We had two entrees, pad thai w shrimp and pad see ew w tofu, and two apps—fried calamari and fried spring rolls. Total $56. The appetizers were edible, the entrees were not. In addition to a bad shrimp in the pad thai, there were notes of putrification in the pad see ew dish. The pad thai was the greasiest we’ve ever seen. It left orange pools of oil on the plate and a lingering sense of malaise in our stomachs. Very sorry we chose this restaurant for takeout.

Myrtle Thai in Brooklyn offers a delightful experience for those seeking flavorful, authentic Thai cuisine in a cozy and casual atmosphere. Located in the heart of the neighborhood, the restaurant is both convenient and welcoming, attracting a diverse mix of locals and visitors. The interior is simple, with warm lighting and modest décor that exudes a relaxed vibe, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, making sure that diners are well taken care of throughout their visit.

One of the standout features of Myrtle Thai is its extensive menu, offering both classic Thai dishes and a few inventive takes on traditional flavors. Favorites like Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Tom Yum soup are prepared with care and attention to detail, often striking the right balance between sweet, spicy, and savory. The freshness of the ingredients is evident, with crisp vegetables and perfectly cooked proteins elevating the dishes beyond the standard fare. For those with dietary restrictions, the restaurant is accommodating, offering vegetarian and vegan options upon request.

While many dishes shine, the appetizers deserve a special mention. The crispy spring rolls and chicken satay are particular crowd-pleasers, providing a great start to the meal. The portions are generous, making them perfect for sharing, and the accompanying sauces—whether peanut or sweet chili—complement the flavors beautifully. If you're a fan of spice, the spicy papaya salad is a must-try, offering a refreshing yet fiery kick that pairs well with the more indulgent mains.

Pricing at Myrtle Thai is quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Most entrees hover around the $12-$16 range, which is a great value for Brooklyn, particularly for such well-executed Thai cuisine. The portion sizes are satisfying, ensuring you won't leave hungry. For those on a budget, the lunch specials are particularly appealing, offering many of the popular dishes at a discounted price. The restaurant also provides reliable delivery service, a bonus for those who want to enjoy their meal from the comfort of home.

One potential downside of Myrtle Thai is that the restaurant can get crowded during peak hours, especially on weekends. The small dining area fills up quickly, so reservations are recommended for dinner if you're dining in. However, this is a minor inconvenience given the quality of the experience. Overall, Myrtle Thai is a gem in Brooklyn, offering a fantastic balance of authentic flavors, friendly service, and affordability, making it a go-to spot for Thai food lovers...

NEVER AGAIN!!! No wonder why they are Graded B. Today's experience 4/17/15. So I decide to try this Thai restaurant for lunch with my husband. While seated I observed the server bring out Golden Fritters to a table seated across from us. As the server walks away I notice the customers saying that was not what they ordered..they call the server and tell him they ordered the salad not fritters. The waiter takes the 2 plates, rolls his eyes and returns back to the kitchen. Now he comes to our table to take our order. We order 2 orders of the Golden Fritters from the lunch menu and our entrée. The server immediately comes out w/2 plates of Golden Fritters. I look at them...touch them to see if they were HOT (freshly made) and they weren't. Just as I thought...he brought out the 2 plates of fritters he had taken from the previous customer. I now call the server and ask him if these fritters were freshly made. He looked at me like I had 5 heads and stuttered with his reply. Why...because he knew he just got caught. He said "um I'm sorry wrong table" and took the plates away. They so called made me a fresh batch with my entrée. (how do I know its fresh..i don't...chance I took) How dare he bring me someone else returned food. I don't know if they sneezed, coughed, touched etc. this food. I can just imagine how many other customers they did this too. First and last time...its a shame because the stir fry chicken and vegetables were good. But dishonest service is UNEXCEPTABLE! This is how people get SICK over dumb bullshit like this. BEWARE AND OBSERVE!!!!!!!!!!...

This place is just horrible I’ve been going to Thai 101 for year and out of the many times I’ve been her I have loved it. Now I just went today and everything was fine until me and my family (party of six) went to ask for the check we all asked 3 time within 20 - 30 minutes and they just ignored us so we were just ready to walk out of there so at least 3 of us left because we were tired of waiting so me and two other people stayed waiting for the check then I go to the bathroom and I see this lady writing out the check with is absurd and then I go tell my mother who was waiting there with me for the check and she just got tired of it so be went to the little back area thing they decided to charge us 35 dollars for waiting 30 for a check while they sat there and served other then we said we are not paying the extra for that so then the lady got upset and said I can’t do anything about it then we were like okay find out a way to fix it and then the other lady started “ no don’t come back no” and we finally got the discount and we said were not coming back and we are not this whole experience was just crazy so now me and my family will never go back ever again

(Sorry for my grammar but you get the point this place is bad and if you want to go there and waste your time and money go ahead but I’m not going to sit there and...
