I've been a client of Nicole Kung for 7 years. I have a very demanding career , where I sit at a computer most of the day and I hold all my stress in my shoulders and jaw. As a result, I used to suffer from constant headaches, TMJ and shoulder tension. Nicole came highly recommended from a friend who told me she specializes in TMJ with intra-oral massage. The massage began by massaging the inside of my mouth. She carefully applied gentle pressure, focusing on the swollen areas to relieve the tension. The appointment lasted approximately one hour. I already noticed some improvement. The next day, I noticed my mouth felt much more loose and relaxed, something I hadn't felt in a year.
Not only is Nicole an expert at what she does, she always listens to what your needs are. It meant a lot that she took the time to educate and explain the process to me. It helped me to build a trust in Nicole as well as intra-oral massage as a therapeutic treatment. I would recommend this therapy to anyone that is diagnosed with TMJ. At the end of the session she will give you gentle suggestions on what to do while you're at work and home so you can further heal your body when not in session. I had never heard of this type of massage therapy before and it was by a happy accident I was able to model for a demo session. Nikki worked on me for about 20-30 minutes and my legs felt incredibly light, it was an interesting feeling to float and carry myself around. After that I decided to book a session, I did 1.5 hours but the following sessions were 2 hours and Iād take 4 if I could. After the first session the tendonitis I was suffering from in my elbows and knees dissolved. Completely gone and has not returned. This was months ago! I had no idea tendonitis can be cured. I ruptured my bursas several years ago and since I havenāt been able to lift properly without a lot of pain. Now I have no issues in my elbows or knees. In addition to that I had hip surgery (labrum tear) and it was incredibly tight, thinking I just needed to stretch more. Nope, just the fascia all bundled up and once released, boom, full mobility in my leg! Incredible. Iāve seen her about 4 times now and my body can move at full range without pain. I had tried myofascia and acupuncture before which had worked relatively well for me in the past. A few weeks in with Nicole I was once again feeling some relief, but Nicole took it a step further and helped me understand how much I had been neglecting my own health and that if I wanted to really treat my neck pain that I needed to address the root of the problem with improved mobility, flexibility, and strength training to counteract the affects of sitting behind a computer for 60+ hours/week.
