am extremely disappointed with my experiences with NYU Langone Health. I went there because it had a stellar reputation and believed I would receive the ābestā possible care. But to be honest, I completely disagree with that assessment.
Multiple times I had trouble communicating directly with anybody in the office. The staff that helps Dr Mary Elizabeth Fino is terrible. They have treated me rudely and never answer the phone. Making appointments is almost impossible. When it comes to fertility, time is of the essence. I am already at an advanced age and Dr. Fino herself told me that I need to begin the process as soon as possible to afford me the best possible chances of conceiving when we first met in February of 2018. This was contradictory, as my surgery appointment to remove a polyp was canceled 3 separate times and was finally performed in July! It is difficult to schedule time off at my job and the staffās insensitivity to my situation is unacceptable. I donāt understand how a āsimple everyday procedureā as had been mentioned by the staff could not be performed by another doctor in this āprestigiousā office.
Another thing I couldnāt understand was why I had to take birth control pills for the first time in my life to fit in to the doctorās schedule, enduring the previously mentioned cancellations.
I continuously had to chase Dr Finoās secretary for information on my surgery. I had to follow up with her on time and date, and she couldnāt give a direct answer on the time was the surgery. I explained to her that my commute is 1.5 hours and needed to confirm the time of the surgery. I finally managed to receive all of the information from a nurse at the hospital at 7PM the night before the procedure, a mere 12 hours before my appointment. Again, unacceptable.
The day of my preregistration and blood test was another āgreatā moment. I went to the address given to me before my appointment only to be turned down at the front desk. I attempted to explain that was the address I was provided, but the staff insisted I was at the wrong location. Apparently, the employees had no idea the prescreening is on the floor above them. This was not the first time. That same day I was sent to 5 different facilities in a period of 45 minutes, walking in intense heat and making me late for my appointment. The last office then sent me to the main hospital. Finally, someone from the office called me and confirmed that I went to the right place THE FIRST TIME! How can NYU Langone employ such incompetent personnel??
Due to all of the negative experiences Iāve had to endure the past several months with NYU Langone Fertility clinic, I cannot trust the facility is competent enough to put forth their best efforts to help me conceive and birth a child. The lack of communication, commitment and care for patients is unacceptable. I felt as though I was only a number, or a dollar sign. I did not feel my best interests were the facilityās primary concern, but instead, whether I have the means to make my copayments. It deeply saddens me that many of the staff, with children of their own, can be so insensitive to someone that wants nothing more in this world than to be a mother. That is what hurts the most. As patients we deserve to be treated with respect and care when it comes to any illness, especially when the time is limited. Therefore, I found a new facility that prioritizes my care and seems dedicated to help me achieve my dream of finally becoming a mother. I am deeply disappointed in NYU Langone...

Over six years in the making (doctor Goudas is our 3rd infertility doctor/RE) IVF rainbow #PhoenixBabyš„š¦ š„ and I was 40 when he was born! And Dr. Sung was extremely meticulous in placing our embaby in me as I watched!
Doctor Goudas is the best doctor Iāve ever had in my entire life!
We didnāt do PGT because at the time the VA didnāt cover it and Iām glad we didnāt but to each their own! We wouldnāt have done it anyway because we donāt believe in such things but as I said to each their own⦠and we have 7 more i the freezer and canāt wait to do it all again! No there are no guarantees though I will say Dr. Goudas is an excellent doctor! Sure heās said some āweirdā things but hereās our results! Yeah the place is like a factory but Iāve been to other clinics and I havenāt seen much of a difference⦠our old clinic was amazing with front and back staffing but the doctor ripped us off! 3 years of IUIs and never once mentioned saline sonograms until we had signed papers for IVF! That was Dr.Cohen at Northwell infertility⦠yeah I named dropped š¤·šš¤· the guy ripped us off and took precious years off my fertility and life with my children⦠and obviously saw dollar signs like this š¤š¤š¤ with every miscarriage and failed cycle we hadā¦
Iām a bit disappointed with some of the reviews on this clinic page⦠especially with billing, but I have to say that northwell was WAY worse! They sent things to collections before we even got the bill! Lolz
And yeah, the front desk of every clinic sucks lolz š Iāve worked in the medical field long enough to know that if the front desk sucks usually the doctors are going to be a lot better at their jobs because the establishment spent more money getting good doctors that they ran out of money for to pay competent people to answer phones and make appointments lolz Iāve donāt front and back office work way more efficiently than any clinics workers and for way less than I know they are getting but-the difference is to me it wasnāt just a job it was my passion⦠these people get paid either way usually and so they could care less about you! But thatās basically ANYWHERE NOW DAYS! Lolz and I was HIGHLY AND PROFICIENTLY TRAINED BY THE US GOVERNMENT AS A NAVY CORPSMEN LOLZ YOU WONT FIND MUCH BETTER THAB ME! Lolz ILL RUN CIRCLES AROUND YOU ALL LOLZ but as a disabled veteran, lolz Iām retired now!
NYU yāall should seek out the navy reserve units in the Bronx and Amityville and hire their navy corpsmen. You wonāt be sorry Lolz Iām giving yāall five stars because of Dr. Sung and Dr. Goudas and their amazing team that helped bring our child into this world! But yāall need to seriously get a handle on yāallās billing and insurance issues⦠because Iām so glad we donāt have to deal with them anymore now that the VA is covering us. Hire veterans yall! We arenāt broken like society says we are. And donāt just hire us for the kick backs and then fire us to hire and fire another veteran like Walmart and other establishments do⦠donāt think we havenāt noticed. Lolz
Hoping yāall can get us pregnant again soon! Follow us @Our_Journey_To_Yall and @Se7enInTheFreezer and @thajuggalettej17 on Instagram! And get a saline sonogram and donāt use...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn my first visit (Cycle Day 1) for a second round of egg retrieval with NYU Langone, I was racially profiled by one of the nurses in this location AND they completely forgot about me half way through the usual morning monitoring appointment (June 21, 2024).
This office has a weird set up and there is no privacy. You get your drawn blood in front of other people, in my case today it was a bunch of single white women and a white couple. I was the only POC patient in this area. As I was having my blood drawn by one of the nurses, another nurse comes up to me and asks "are you missing your husband?" I look up and behind her is a man of the same ethnicity as me. I was very confused and told her I don't have a husband. Everyone in that room, including the POC nurse attending to me, gave me this look that they were embarrassed over such an inappropriate interaction. This offensive nurse actually came back to apologize and blamed the man for claiming he was with me. When I exited that "room" and back into the waiting area, I saw he found his actual wife -- who by the way looked nothing like me in features or clothing.
After this unsavory interaction, I waited in the next area for my ultrasound. I noticed after 40 minutes, no one was left waiting. My phone suddenly rang and I saw it was the NYU Langone phone number. I picked up and a nurse asked me if I had left the center without taking the ultrasound. I told her I was literally in the waiting area. Confused, I walked back to reception to ask if I went to the wrong section. I had not. I started to walk back and the nurse calling me stepped outside from the attending rooms into the waiting area. No one bothered to look at the waiting area before making the call. I had been there the whole time. No one had ever called my name.
As many other 1-star reviews have mentioned: the staff, process to book appointments, and scheduling a call with the doctor are all highly inefficient. You may see the same nurse or doctor twice at most. You must self advocate and know what questions to ask and how to talk to these people who don't read your file. The medical professionals are kind, doing their best and far from perfect, but the NYU system of scheduling, calling, messaging over many different platforms is damning.
I wanted to try this 53rd St location for daily monitoring after getting a ton of bruises from bloodwork done by the other W27th St office, but at this point I am choosing between bruises or getting racially profiled and forgotten about. Sad for myself, but also everyone else trying to navigate this establishment for themselves and their families.
Okay so the service is bad, but is the food good right? I got abysmal results on my first egg retrieval, putting me into the outlier territory where they can't even explain what happened because my doctor and nurses said everything looked good on paper the entire time up until retrieval. The only reason I am giving them a second shot is because they have my data now. They should know how I respond and compare this to the largest dataset available as this center is supposedly "leading." I am on a new dosage and will update my review on how these went because so far it's been unsuccessful to say the...
