Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got a tale that'll whisk you away to a land far, far from the daily grind. It all began on a day so unremarkable, it could've been any Tuesday from last year. My to-do list was longer than a grocery receipt for a family reunion, and let me tell ya, my spirits were about as high as a snake's belly in a wagon rut.
Now, amidst the sea of sameness, something extraordinary happened. I stumbled upon a place called "Omar's," a Mediterranean cuisine oasis that promised an escape to the exotic lands of Egypt, right in the middle of my humdrum day.
Stepping into "Omar's" was like finding a hidden door to another world. The place was decked out with such care and detail; it felt like I'd hitched a ride on a magic carpet. The seating, the decor, the ambiance—it all sang the song of the Nile, and let me tell you, I was ready to dance along.
But the true magic of "Omar's" wasn't just in its design. Oh no, it was the food that had me spellbound. The chicken shawarma was like a love letter from the heavens, each bite a perfect harmony of spices and tenderness. The hummus? Creamier than a dream, and the falafel was so divine, I half-expected it to sprout wings and ascend right there and then.
Now, I gotta be honest, the staff had about as much warmth as a snowman in January, but folks, I was there for the food, and the food did not disappoint. It was like finding water in the desert—precious and life-giving.
And then there was Omar, the owner. The man was like a desert prince, charming and easy on the eyes, making rounds like he was welcoming you into his home. He had this way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, a friend he'd known for years. It's not every day you find a place where the owner treats you like a long-lost buddy.
So, if you're ever feeling like you need a break from the monotony, a taste of something truly special, head on over to "Omar's." Sure, the staff might not be the friendliest bunch, but when the food's that good, who's to complain? You're there for a culinary adventure, a taste of Egypt, and maybe, just maybe, to catch a glimpse of Omar, the friendliest face in the Mediterranean dining scene. Trust me, "Omar's" is a journey worth taking, no...
Read moreFood is usually good when cooked properly. My co-workers and I usually get lunch there - conveniently close to the office. I went today and the line was all the way at the end of the block. Waited 20 minutes to get inside. Ordered 3 chicken shawarma for my co-workers and I. I was told rudely that they couldn't service me and that I could only order 1 and that I should have place an order via phone for delivery. When I asked to place an order I was told it would be a long wait since they were behind on their delivery as well. So now, I asked to order just 1 since my co-workers asked me to pick up something else. First, I was asked if I was on the line waiting (which I was for now 25 minutes) and than I heard the food prep guys saying it's too late and that I should have already place my order and that it would be an additional wait of 5 minutes since they ran out (again) of chicken shawarma. Not happy with the staff and the manager since I felt they were all rude (except for the black delivery guy and the cashier). First, they don't give out menus anywhere that I see (I had to ask for one). Second, while i was patiently waiting 20 minutes outside no one bothered to come out and make an announcement that their food wasn't ready nor only 1 self order could be placed. I than had to wait another 15 minutes because they conveniently forgot I still wanted 1 order. Not happy with this place! I've already told my office about the service and rudeness. Whenever I go there I usually come across this 1 rude guy but I overlook him for the food but today's service was overall rudeness. I'm sure they won't miss my money but just overall Omar's get 1 Star and left an unhappy customer to spread the word to any one who will listen in...
Read moreA group of 5 of us were there yesterday and I don’t see myself returning here. This restaurant popped up on a google search of top rated restaurants in the area. I love Mediterranean food so the name definitely stood out as well. But this isn’t what I expected. We had already went into the restaurant and sat down when we realized it was 6pm and the restaurant was dead! We were the only table there. Anyway, I just went with the flow and we all ordered a plate each hoping for the best.. At the bottom of the menu it said there is a 20% service charge for parties 5 and more. No problem. I always tip well anyway as long as the food and service is good. However, this wasn’t the case here. Firstly, the waiter was not friendly at all. The ambience was also lacking. And worst of the all the food was so salty and the portion size was very poor in comparison to the price they charge. Almost half of the plate was salad which most of us didn’t eat, a quarter was meat if you get the platter and less if you order just the chicken kabob. The smallest portion of rice I’ve ever seen for this type of restaurant. Everything including the rice and all the meat was just so salty. The complimentary baklava was nice but doesn’t compensate for everything else. I usually return the same restaurant whenever I find a gem but this wasn’t one of them. They have a fine dining situation set up and charge fine dining prices but trust me , this is NOT a fine dining restaurant. This was pure disappointment to come here and bring my family that was visiting all the way from Canada. After we ate we understood why the restaurant was empty at a prime...
