I had a very enjoyable experience at Omar’s this weekend, but with a bunch of problems I think could be fixed. For starters, when I sat down for dinner there wasn’t any drink service whatsoever. They had no water or waiters giving out drinks, just very unclear instructions about how to get your drink. Secondly, they are very understaffed. There was only one person that seemed to be doing everything, and it took about half an hour to get our food, as well as ten minutes to take our order. It seems like Omar’s is more suited to serve people during their lunch break instead of a full sit down dinner. They have a Chipotle style station at the front that they use to serve their customers. Onto the food, their hummus was amazing. I highly recommend it but that’s about all I can say. The chicken was fresh, but ok. It wasn’t what I expected from a shawarma place, but it wasn’t terrible. Not to mention their potato wedges were amazing too. It isn’t listed on their menu, but if you ask them for it they will give it to you. They also give you a complementary baklava with every meal, which is a nice touch to add for desert. Overall, if you are looking for a quick takeout meal,I highly recommend Omar’s, but if you want a sit down experience for dinner, I would go somewhere else.

After hours of hard work at the office, my stomach roared for a hearty lunch. Some of colleagues’ belly’s adamantly agreed. One was so far as to propose Omar’s. To which i responded with delight at the prospect. And so we went. Only a short skip and a hop we found ourselves waltzing into the atmospheric joint, thrown right into the order line. My mouth watered at the thought of a chicken shawarma pita, so i ordered one, along with some potatoes. We sat down and were welcomed with complimentary pita and hummus. This is where I must pause to say, this was the best pita i’ve ever had. And by no means am i stranger to pita. The hummus to which my bready vessel served was tahini forward, something I haven’t come across much before, but didn’t leave me with much dismay. The chicken shawarma. Beautiful. I thought i would never come close to what had at Samos Grec in Aix-en-Provence. But this proved me wrong. To finish the lunch off we were charmed with complimentary baklava. Sensational.

Ambiance (4/5): The back dining area is well lit and quiet! There's plenty of seating and was pretty busy on a weekend lunch hour. Service (2/5): The front part of the restaurant is a fast plate ordering to go. There was about 3 staff members working both stations so it was difficult to get service in the back dining area. Omar Signiture Dish (5/5): Everything on the platter was delicious! The lamb kabob was my favorite and the chicken was incredibly juicy. The protein is seasoned wonderfully with pronounced spices. The seasoned rice complemented well w the meats. The portion was enough for 1.5 persons. The table has bottles of yogurt sauce and hot sauce. Both were delicious complements to the dish but the flavors didn’t need it! Sharing plates incurs an extra $5 fee. Groups with 5 or more has an included 20% tip.

Well, folks, gather 'round because I've got a tale that'll whisk you away to a land far, far from the daily grind. It all began on a day so unremarkable, it could've been any Tuesday from last year. My to-do list was longer than a grocery receipt for a family reunion, and let me tell ya, my spirits were about as high as a snake's belly in a wagon rut.

Now, amidst the sea of sameness, something extraordinary happened. I stumbled upon a place called "Omar's," a Mediterranean cuisine oasis that promised an escape to the exotic lands of Egypt, right in the middle of my humdrum day.

Stepping into "Omar's" was like finding a hidden door to another world. The place was decked out with such care and detail; it felt like I'd hitched a ride on a magic carpet. The seating, the decor, the ambiance—it all sang the song of the Nile, and let me tell you, I was ready to dance along.

But the true magic of "Omar's" wasn't just in its design. Oh no, it was the food that had me spellbound. The chicken shawarma was like a love letter from the heavens, each bite a perfect harmony of spices and tenderness. The hummus? Creamier than a dream, and the falafel was so divine, I half-expected it to sprout wings and ascend right there and then.

Now, I gotta be honest, the staff had about as much warmth as a snowman in January, but folks, I was there for the food, and the food did not disappoint. It was like finding water in the desert—precious and life-giving.

And then there was Omar, the owner. The man was like a desert prince, charming and easy on the eyes, making rounds like he was welcoming you into his home. He had this way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, a friend he'd known for years. It's not every day you find a place where the owner treats you like a long-lost buddy.

So, if you're ever feeling like you need a break from the monotony, a taste of something truly special, head on over to "Omar's." Sure, the staff might not be the friendliest bunch, but when the food's that good, who's to complain? You're there for a culinary adventure, a taste of Egypt, and maybe, just maybe, to catch a glimpse of Omar, the friendliest face in the Mediterranean dining scene. Trust me, "Omar's" is a journey worth taking, no...

Food is usually good when cooked properly. My co-workers and I usually get lunch there - conveniently close to the office. I went today and the line was all the way at the end of the block. Waited 20 minutes to get inside. Ordered 3 chicken shawarma for my co-workers and I. I was told rudely that they couldn't service me and that I could only order 1 and that I should have place an order via phone for delivery. When I asked to place an order I was told it would be a long wait since they were behind on their delivery as well. So now, I asked to order just 1 since my co-workers asked me to pick up something else. First, I was asked if I was on the line waiting (which I was for now 25 minutes) and than I heard the food prep guys saying it's too late and that I should have already place my order and that it would be an additional wait of 5 minutes since they ran out (again) of chicken shawarma. Not happy with the staff and the manager since I felt they were all rude (except for the black delivery guy and the cashier). First, they don't give out menus anywhere that I see (I had to ask for one). Second, while i was patiently waiting 20 minutes outside no one bothered to come out and make an announcement that their food wasn't ready nor only 1 self order could be placed. I than had to wait another 15 minutes because they conveniently forgot I still wanted 1 order. Not happy with this place! I've already told my office about the service and rudeness. Whenever I go there I usually come across this 1 rude guy but I overlook him for the food but today's service was overall rudeness. I'm sure they won't miss my money but just overall Omar's get 1 Star and left an unhappy customer to spread the word to any one who will listen in...

A group of 5 of us were there yesterday and I don’t see myself returning here. This restaurant popped up on a google search of top rated restaurants in the area. I love Mediterranean food so the name definitely stood out as well. But this isn’t what I expected. We had already went into the restaurant and sat down when we realized it was 6pm and the restaurant was dead! We were the only table there. Anyway, I just went with the flow and we all ordered a plate each hoping for the best.. At the bottom of the menu it said there is a 20% service charge for parties 5 and more. No problem. I always tip well anyway as long as the food and service is good. However, this wasn’t the case here. Firstly, the waiter was not friendly at all. The ambience was also lacking. And worst of the all the food was so salty and the portion size was very poor in comparison to the price they charge. Almost half of the plate was salad which most of us didn’t eat, a quarter was meat if you get the platter and less if you order just the chicken kabob. The smallest portion of rice I’ve ever seen for this type of restaurant. Everything including the rice and all the meat was just so salty. The complimentary baklava was nice but doesn’t compensate for everything else. I usually return the same restaurant whenever I find a gem but this wasn’t one of them. They have a fine dining situation set up and charge fine dining prices but trust me , this is NOT a fine dining restaurant. This was pure disappointment to come here and bring my family that was visiting all the way from Canada. After we ate we understood why the restaurant was empty at a prime...
