Optima Beauty Supply — Local services in New York

This store is conveniently located and has a wide selection of products. I frequently shop here due to its close proximity to the train. However, today was the last day that I will shop at this establishment. I visited the store at lunchtime shortly after 12 pm. The store was not crowded and well staffed. I entered the store looking for a hair curl cream but no one offered assistance. Rather, I received two to three employees not-so-casually watching my every move while I searched for the product. When one employee walked past me, another one would shortly follow. Finally, I found what I needed but what would have been an over $30 purchase, I reduced to an $8.99 selection due to the experience. Further, as I paid for my purchase, there were no pleasantries exchanged nor was I asked if I found everything that I needed. I said "Thank you" as I always do after receiving change from a purchase but there was no "You're welcome" uttered in reaponse. As I stated before, due to the location, I have often shopped at this store. However, after this experience, you can be assured that this will no longer be the case. Employees are disrespectful and unprofessional. They didn’t help with anything i needed then proceeded to kick people out 10 minutes to closing time in a rude manor because he “had to go”.

I was in a rush to find a product because i was traveling the next day. I walked into the store at 6:47 pm and the store was closing at 7:00pm. I had never been to the location so i asked for help. One of the employees pointed to the wrong item and walked away. I continued to look around to find the item when another employee approached me at 6:49 saying “you need to find whatever you need and go because we are closing”. I told Him that i wasn’t leaving until 7 because I am still in search of an item that i desperately needed. The employee said “okay then we will turn off the lights and lock the doors with you in here we have to go home”. I still hadn’t left because it was 6:54 at this point and the two employees were standing at the door with their bags on. The lights then turned off And i could no longer find anything in the store. They are sooooo freakin rude !!! I am from upstate NY and the service here is terrible. They hound me like I am a person who is trying to steal and every time I ask for help they look at me like I am crazy. They follow you through the store... They know nothing about hair at all!! To be honest if a store could get shut down from having poor customer service , they would be #1 in this area. I walked in with my friend who was hispanic and she was speaking it to the guy. The guy quickly caught an attitude and said you don't know how to speak spanish . I am a very loyal customer when it comes to hair and this place is just terrible !!! I rather walk 10 blocks than to go back to this store ever again to feed their wallets.
