5 stars for building staff, 2 stars for everyone else.
Building staff is outstanding. Juan, Franscico, Jeff, Deochan, Henner, Junior, Rubins, Juan S, and Alex all called out by name because everyone has made a great impression on me while I’ve lived in this building. Someone will always help me and these guys have meaningfully improved my quality of life. A million little things these guys do for me that make life easier.
Building is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Service requests are easy to make and quick to be responded to. No trouble getting routinely sprayed to keep pests out. Neighbors are friendly and respectful for the most part.
It hard to recommend Equity Management though. Lease negations go through corporate and are deeply disconnected from local operations. They really price gouge current tenants and will turn over an apartment to a new renter cheaper than they offer a current, good-standing tenant a renewal. They lack communication. They didn’t reach out to me this year about my renewal, I discovered it by accident when I paid my rent 2 weeks early. Then I spent days attempting to get corporate to call me back. I actually asked if perhaps they didn’t want to renew me, that’s how difficult this process was.
Local office is also bad about communicating. Telephone number for current residents ring to a voice mail that I’m betting the office has no way to check, because if they do know where the VM is going then they’re actively ignoring tenants. 5 days to get a call back, was told they prefer email, was told I would get a better email to use, I did not get that email. Terrible.
They have also consistently trampled their own lease agreement and basic NYC tenant rights. On multiple occasions they scheduled me for routine maintenance with no notice and I had to deny access. This did change when Henner came on as the super, I’ll give them that. For the prices of these apartments, local management should be well aware of basics. Perhaps they are short staffed?
The good news is I don’t really need to speak to anyone outside of the building, only once in 2 years and it turned out I misread some information and no action was needed on my part. It would just be helpful to get information like that sooner. I’m trying to be a...
Read moreI have lived in Parc Cameron community since spring of 2020 and recently moved out. The location is great, 1 min. walking distance from 86th street subway station and many restaurants and some grocery stores neaby. It's quiet neighborhood in the night. Doormen and technicians are awesome. They are always friendly, helpful, and responsible. They have addressed any maintenance request of my apartment within one day. Management team was also great for the apartment tour, move in process, and their response after move in. They responded my concerns, and questions quickly. It looks like some staff were changed sometime last year, and I felt their response became slow. Probably they need more staff to deal with tenants. There are some cons that made me decide to move out. The rent increase of this year was insane, and it didn't make sense to me to pay over 3000$ per month for a small studio apartment. The other issue was that someone smoke near my apartment. That building is supposed to be smoke free, but I have regularly smell the cigarettes from a neighbor. This is not the management fault, but their response for my complaint was slow. Finally, the move out inspection was very strict. I cleaned apartments myself when I moved out last 4 times and I have never been charged for cleaning and painting. I should have asked a professional cleaner so that I did not waste my time for cleaning. Except these cons, living there was...
Read moreI am a former resident, moved out in October 2023. First of all, I want to say that the on-site staff are some of best I have ever had. They are kind, friendly, super helpful and efficient. I had a wonderful experience staying at the apartment because of them. They are really the best!
My interaction with the manager, Melissa on the other hand, left a bad taste in my mouth. When I moved out I believed I opted in for a cleaning service so I did not properly clean the apartment. I then saw a cleaning fee in my last statement so I emailed Melissa asking about what I believed was the extra charge on top of the opted in cleaning service.
The communication via email was less than ideal. She responded to less then half of the emails sent and for the ones she did she left some questions unanswered. I was still unclear about the charges after a few back and forth so I called the office. Another staff picked up and kindly explained what the different charges were but at the end of the call I still had to pay about $50 more than what I expected to so I asked if I could have Melissa call me back to discuss this. She never did. After that I didn't think it was worth it to keep chasing her for any explanation. It was a frustrating interaction nonetheless at the end of what has been an amazing stay at...
