Spending the weekend in NYC and looked for a place to have breakfast near Central Park and to our good fortune found Viand!! Solid reviews and really deserves more than a 4.3 rating..come on folks, hype up your favorite spots… because this place a strong and steady flow of local New Yorkers for breakfast (especially families with young kids). My breakfast sandwich, The Modern, was delicious! I was able to change the ciabatta bread to the brioche bun which was soft and sweet and the tomato bacon jam was out of this world, yummy. I’ll definitely add bacon to this sandwich next time. My partner got the steak and eggs, good sized steak, well seasoned, cooked to the desired temperature and the eggs they use here are huge and hearty! We don’t usually like shredded hash browns ( prefer breakfast potatoes) but their hash browns are pretty good with onions and peppers and again, well seasoned. Atmosphere is very nice, small but not cramped, clean, and the staff are wonderful; friendly and attentive without being overbearing and they seem to work well as a team to serve all customers. Overall this was a really great experience, slight dings for the fact that the coffee was pretty weak (and o don’t like strong coffee so that’s saying something), and the orange juice was a bit tart/bitter. But that aside we enjoyed it so much we ordered a salad and Cuban sandwich to-go for lunch later! Awesome food, great service… stop by!!

Having been a long time patron of the 72nd St branch glad to see they opened another branch on the west side. Pretty much the same setup as the other branch. I usually go for the Philly cheesesteak but decided to try the turkey club this time. It was mostly fine but the turkey seemed a little dry, which surprised me as they're usually better than this. Chalk it up to an off day. We also had the chicken pesto sandwich, which I thought had too little pesto. Double the amount and it would have been perfect. Still better food than the diners in my current neighbourhood so not going to put me off. Like the outdoor seating too.

We were quite impressed with the food and the service at the Viand diner. Last night we had the turkey meatloaf with green beans and a sweet potato. Everything was done to perfection and very tasty. Tonight we stopped in for dessert and tried their Russian coffee cake which was to die for! Plenty of nuts, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. The waiters we had were very attentive providing great service. I also had some mint tea and they served a high quality organic tea, Mighty Leaf. You don’t normally see that in restaurants. All in all, a very impressive performance at a reasonable price.

Worst ordering experience in my life. Normally I don’t care to write reviews but this takes the cake here. First incident after I ordered was that it was taking over an hour for my food to be delivered so I called to check the status and low and behold the woman who took my order said they forgot about it and would send it over right away. I didn’t even need to say what I ordered, she knew exactly who I was. Second incident after about 15 more minutes of waiting, the woman calls back and tells me the card didn’t go through. So after confirming the number with her again, she failed to get the security code on my initial call in, which is why the card kept getting declined. How do you take orders over the phone and forget to ask for the security code?!?

I will be reaching out to management to voice my concerns. If there was a 0 or negative star option, that would be more...

DO NOT order Grubhub from these people. I ordered prime rib au jus, portobello mushroom, bronzino (which they called to ask to replace with turkey) soup and squash. I received squash, plain boiled beef broth, and a “bronzino” that came soggier than wet toilet paper. What was missing? About $120 worth of my $150 order.

When I called to inquire whether I would be getting my food, I received an irate man who started screaming about how it wasn’t his fault and that I “have to” complain to grubhub about the driver, not the restaurant.

He made no effort to call or contact or make things right and frankly this disgusting experience on thanksgiving has turned me off to the place. The abject lack of responsibility or professionalism exhibited by this establishment is not only shameful, it is embarrassing.

I don’t understand how this business stays afloat. I urge everyone to...
