What an incredibly lush, peaceful, zen, work of art is this new plant shop (that I was told had only been open for 3 weeks) in my neighborhood. From the moment you enter, you get the sense that not only is ‘art’ being made here but that the (amazing) owners (who are super competent in all things plants) have left no stone unturned to ensure that customers are enchantingly caught up in plant possibilities! Every detail in this store is functional and thoughtful (especially the adorable metal plant stands). When one of the owners saw my “corner” of selected plants was becoming crowded, she quickly brought over a mesh tray for me as I continued to make my picks. This is and is not a plant shop, in the traditional sense, it is rather one that is infused with curation, artsy display, and fine presentation of detail. Unlike some other plant shops in the neighborhood (not to mention names but take a guess) here the owners themselves were front and center, public facing. Rather than a gaggle of high-turnover employees that have little to no knowledge of plants within a corporate structure and hierarchy. Every single plant in this shop was pristine well tended to and cared for. Unlike other shops one just a block over where you go in and are presented with plants that are bone dry, half dead, and not cared for. Which is unbelievable that people are actually buying them at all! And no guarantee on the plants, try to return/exchange and you’re met with hostility and shaming. What’s more, the plant selection here is AMAZING and trending and unique and even some rare finds. Their bonsai is impeccable and impressive. My plant purchases were individually wrapped in adorned tissue paper, and thoughtfully placed into a box. When I got home to unwrap the plants I realized that they had so mindfully included a white tag for each purchase that told you exactly how much sun, water, and other care details. These owners are experts and have had stores in California and Tokyo. Look no further folks, the ultimate plant experience par excellence has arrived, -go, buy, and learn, —and get your mind blown out! You won’t be disappointed. Your only issue will be how to ensure one doesn’t go back each day for more and more!

Update

Just went back for more plants and my experience was yet again …..incredible! And I got some amazing plants to round out my collection, one that I’ve been looking for for 3 years!

Update

I’ve bout quite a few houseplants this past week from Utsuwa and I remain as impressed as I was when I wrote my first review above. I’ve never encountered such consistently healthy plants at any Plant Shop, —and the service, time, attention given to each customer is unmatched. So knowledgeable, so hospitable and gratuitous, I’ve for sure made this plant store my #1 go to for all things plants, bonsai, moss art,...

I recently visited this lovely shop, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was! The owner is incredibly nice, caring, and goes above and beyond to ensure every customer feels welcomed and valued. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in good hands. Not only is the owner highly knowledgeable about plants, but they were also patient with all my questions, taking the time to guide me through the different plant options based on my needs. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned plant enthusiast, the owner is there to help without making you feel rushed. Their passion for plants truly shines through, and they provide thoughtful recommendations tailored to your space and lifestyle. The shop itself has a beautiful variety of healthy, well-cared-for plants, and it’s clear that each one receives the same love and attention that the customers do. If you’re looking for a friendly, personalized plant shopping experience, I highly recommend stopping by. You won’t be...

As a houseplant enthusiast, visiting this shop made my day. It is the loveliest houseplant shop I have visited in the city. I'm so glad they have come to the neighborhood. It's a tiny shop but with a beautiful selection, including out of the ordinary houseplants that you often don't see at other shops. The prices are reasonable as well. As if this wasn't wonderful enough, what really stands out is the care, attention, and friendly service. I really felt like a welcome guest who was as well cared for as their plants. When I checked out, they packed my plants securely and carefully and provided me with written instructions for each plant and reviewed these instructions with me. It's so nice to be treated so kindly! I will definitely be a...
