The ambiance of the restaurant was quite impressive. However, I found the service provided by the waitress to be somewhat awkward. I had high expectations for this particular steakhouse, especially after hearing positive reviews about its offerings in Harlem. My husband and I dined there on January 31, 2025. Upon entering, I noticed the establishment was relatively empty, which led me to believe we had arrived at an opportune time.
Following our seating, we were promptly offered water, and the menu was presented to us. However, when the waitress returned to take our order shortly thereafter, I informed her that we required additional time to review the menu. After some deliberation, my husband ordered the shrimp and lobster spaghetti, while I chose the lamb chops accompanied by mashed potatoes. We also decided to start our meal with asparagus and calamari.
As we waited for our appetizers, the delay became noticeable. The waitress, perhaps sensing my growing impatience, eventually approached our table with complimentary bread. While I appreciated the gesture, I thought to myself that it would have been more considerate to provide the bread earlier, especially given our extended wait time. Working in education has made me an observant individual, and I noticed that the restaurant was hosting a large party, seemingly prioritizing their needs over those of other guests.
Despite the fact that a nearby table of two ladies appeared to be concluding their meal, we continued to wait for our food. When the appetizers finally arrived, I anticipated an apology from the waitress acknowledging the delay due to the larger party and potential staffing shortages. Regrettably, no such acknowledgment was made.
After finishing the appetizers, we found ourselves still awaiting our main courses. I observed that a newly seated group was being attended to before us, which prompted me to voice my concerns. I addressed a passing waiter, expressing my dissatisfaction with the service. Although I made it clear that my frustration was not directed at him, I indicated that we wished to settle our bill due to the excessive wait time, which had exceeded one hour.
The waitress returned with the bill, and we settled our payment, leaving the establishment feeling disheartened by the experience. Despite my generally optimistic nature, I conveyed to my husband that while I might consider trying this restaurant again in the future, it would not be in the...
Read moreI had the pleasure of having my birthday dinner here on 11/30/24. What a lovely restaurant huge but very clean, nice classy decor. There was a DJ playing some nice afrobeats music! It wasn't crowded but we booked a reservation prior. We were seated right away. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious- we chose the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and my main entrée was Chilean SeaBass with spinach and my husband ordered lobster and shrimp spaghetti- my drink was an AfroMule-very yummy. So I will get to the appetizer first: this was our only disappointment because there were only 4 shrimp looked like they were maybe large and jumbo sizes- maybe they could at least add 2 or 4 extra shrimp for the price or lower the price for 4 or use colossal (think it was $22 or $24). so the Chilean SeaBass all I can say is Baybay it was absolutely delicious I wanted to lick my plate because the sauce Everything was perfect perfect! Side of mash was tasty as well. My husbands dish had a great taste but the only issue was the pasta was not cooked al dente-it was very under cooked and the lobster was over cooked and rubbery but because the taste was so darn good he ate it anyway. We did mention to the waiter who informed the chef and manager and they were super helpful and took care of it no problem- we appreciated that. The chef was so nice and friendly he greeted us in the beginning and on our way out. He even gave me a birthday shot of tequila! The staff surprised me with a happy birthday song and chocolate mousse desert which was delicious. There was also a young gentleman there taking photos but he doesn't work for the restaurant- he was respectful and we supported him and took photos and purchased one. Overall we enjoyed everything from the food to the service, music and ambience- i will definitely go again hopefully I can hear a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a Harlemite I wanted to support this establishment and I gave it two opportunities before deciding to leave it alone. 1st Time: I ordered the lamb chops and the tagliatelle. The good news is the pasta was a hit! However the issue was with the lamb chops. I ordered them medium rare and got well done. It was obvious they were over cooked so they offered to bring me a new order and l accepted. The second order took longer to make than the first order that was over cooked. When l finally received it it was so rate it was bloody. Their price points are no different than upscale steak houses downtown however the steak houses downtown know how to cook the proteins they serve. Unexceptable, especially for a $60 price point. I could get over them not know what medium rare is but the status of there restrooms is inexcusable. They were worst than a public McDonalds bathroom, you could have caught hepatitis from how disgusting their bathroom was with no toilet paper in either of them. 2nd & last time: My cousin wanted to go there for her birthday dinner. I made a reservation for 5pm on a Friday. I get there at 4:55pm and we are told that they have a privet party and our reservation was cancelled. I checked my confirmation for the reservation l made and l see they cancelled my reservation @ 4:34pm via email. To cancel a reservation less than 30 mins before the confirmed reservations via email. I hate to say it but this would never happen downtown. This establishment will no longer be receiving my support,...
