If I could give this salon 0 stars I would. So I walked in for a wash and set. I get my hair washed and then im brought back where the guy puts the blow dryer to my wet hair. I can tell nobody in there is licensed cause whyyy are you rough drying my curly hair? Listen the man that works in there got through about 3 sections and at this point I don’t feel any heat my roots are still puffy and the sections of hair he did blow dry is starting to frizz out. Another client walks in as he’s blow drying and my stylist cuts the blow dryer off and runs to deal with this guy that just walks in. At this point I’m Annoyed. I asked for a wash and set which means I want rollers, I was willing to settle for the blow out but I could tell from the way the man doing he has 0 experience. The owner of this establishment is even worse she flicked my hair and said my hair is “no good for rolos”. I was highly offended. Meanwhile I’m still sitting with my hair a tangled mess and air drying so I asked what was the point of this. If I had to sit and wait for a stylist why not just wash my hair and set me under the dryer that way something is being done. So they go nobody is in front of you the stylist just had to do something real quick. So I responded that waiting wasn’t the problem it’s the fact that I asked for something she said ok and proceeded to do what she wanted. The owner Rosa is what I call a cookie cutter stylist. She can produce one look on one type of client. She’s so set in her own bias that she’s really bold enough to tell a client that walks into her business that their hair isn’t good enough for rollers. I ended up leaving with my hair UNFINISHED because I no longer felt comfortable with anyone of them touching my hair. I left in such a huff that I had to turn around and get my book I brought with me. The owner picks up the book to hand it to me and then lets it drop to the floor as she called me a pendeja all because she’s a racist who...
Read moreI have been going here since 2017... went after pandemic and asked for the owner again to do highlights. I grew out my hair for 2.5 yrs and went back only to her coz she does a great job. Doesn't yank and pull my hair out.
I asked thrice but they assigned someone else to do my hair highlights. I showed her the hair color on my hair, she started mixing. I thought maybe the owner Rosa will do the color. Then I gave up.....
This lady did my color , asked me shade on shade card. I showed her deep brown/ burgundy. she said yes.
Almost 3 hours of her yanking and pulling my hair, burnt my hair drying it, I asked her to stop politely a few times. She made a mess. Hair color is white / blonde highlights. she has pulled out so much of my hair, my scalp is burning still... and highlights start from 1 inch behind the root !!!!
Am crying, paid was so angry .. then owner asked me what happened. She tried to correct the front hair and highlighted a few. But LOOK at the result!!
NEVER ask for anyone BUT the...
Read more1 year later: Still the best salon in the area. They actually listen to you and let you know what kind of hair you have and what would and wouldn’t work well with it. I’ve gotten haircuts and blowouts and I always leave feeling like that girl :)
My Spanish isn’t too good, but they didn’t make me feel judged at all. They speak English but I always feel self conscious about being Latina and being more fluent in English. Best...
