A lovely, impeccably organized vintage jewellery store. A real treasure trove for fashion students, stylists, and lovers of 20s to 60s (and older) rhinestone, enamel and silver jewellery.
Stock men's and women's jewellery, accessories, cufflinks, buttons- and more (see videos).
The staff were lovely, and even recommended me a secondhand gem in the neighborhood (Screaming Mimi's), because I was pressed for time, and much of the stores I had researched prior to my trip were overhyped, and not great at all.
For all Europeans and Brits: this is an American store, so do not expect this to be a European or UK style antiques shop with ware from the 1700s.
Think Hollywood costume jewellery, and newer vintage, mainly 19th century, with some older pieces.
Prices are anywhere from 20 Dollars or less for some buttons up to multiple hundreds, depending on the age, quality and craftsmanship of the piece.
This store looks small, but if you go through all the drawers in search of your dream piece, you might want to spend a good while here.
P.s.: I have always been into Art Deco (kitschy or not), and they have...
Read moreLovely vintage jewelry shop that’s perfectly organized and well-stocked. They have more costume styles, fine jewelry, and really precious pieces that are seriously hard to find. Things are organized in a way that makes sense and allows for smoother browsing. The employees are so incredibly friendly and patient, they were available to help me look at tons of pieces and I never felt any pressure to make a purchase. I did wind up choosing a special sentimental vintage charm and the prices were a little higher than you might find online, but an understandable amount for how high-quality their vintage items are, how lovely their store is, and how well-informed their employees are. With so much jewelry to look at, I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Their vintage pieces are authentic and well-cared for. Whether you’re looking for Victorian fobs, mizpah pendants, paste rolled gold pieces, vintage Diamond rings, ornate pins, stick pins, or more modern costume designs, they have it all. The pieces are consistent for their time periods and...
Read moreMy friend brought me here for the first time bc he knows I used to collect vintage pieces. He's a frequent shopper at Pippin for his cufflinks. Unfortunately I didn't have a positive experience. The staff was cold and ignored us until I asked to see a grasshopper brooch. The guy gave me a lovely description of it but the energy I picked up from him and the female staff was that they did not want to be bothered with us. Quite different from how they they treated the previous customer of a different hue. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. I couldn't decide be a lucite brooch and a stacked traingular piece but settled on the latter. The tall girl with a bob placed it in a box and a paper bag while I paid the guy who described the grasshopper brooch. She then left it on the counter. Neither bothered to hand it to me. I'm so out off that I will probably return it and/or never return. I had planned to buy gifts for my friend's birthdays etc from here...
