I truly can't imagine a better teacher than Paige. She is incredibly gifted and skilled at the difficult act of guiding someone toward growth. I contacted her at a time in my life when movement felt daunting. I'd done dance and yoga for a lot of my life, but I'd lost touch with the fundamentals, and Covid just made physical expression feel even more daunting. I wanted to build a strong foundation of bodily fluency that I could practice at home and that I could keep growing -- rather than just dropping into a yoga class every so often to follow the instructor's guidance, which feels like stasis.
I felt myself starting from scratch with Paige, re-learning the fundamentals of yoga, and of movement more generally. I almost felt like I'd never done some of the basic movements (chaturanga, shivasana) until I worked with Paige. The lessons were so pleasurable, but also rigorous, slow and progressive. Ultimately, I got to where I was confidently doing a headstand on my own. And Paige was really thoughtful about making my investment count: she helped me build a "video library" so I have guides to use on my own. I never felt pressured into becoming dependent on her -- she truly helped me to connect with my body and my strength so I could practice meaningfully on my own.
My yoga practice is now a source of deep joy, relief and growth. And I credit Paige's unique skill sets as a teacher for that outcome.
