Located in the prospect Heights section of Brooklyn between Bergen Street, Flatbush and 6th Avenues, sits a cool triangular shaped Renaissance Revival building (similar to the wedge shaped Flatiron Building) where Doughnut Plant decided to set up shop. My husband was working in the area and decided to try some doughnuts, his pleasant experience is what brought us back to try more creations. From the moment you step inside, you feel the inviting atmosphere as you explore their enticing offerings, staff members, and even patrons are courteous, “Good food makes people happy.” This charming bakery boasts a delightful array of unique doughnuts crafted with a commitment to wholesome, and healthy ingredients, moreover, the ambiance of the bakery is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who are passionate about their craft. We had the pleasure to meet Andres, he gave us some delicious recommendations! Their genuine enthusiasm for their products shines through, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
We tried their signature doughnut (CRÈME BRÛLÉE) and it reminds me of an Italian zeppole with a delicious crème filling and a crunchy caramelized top.
One of the many highlights of this bakery is their emphasis on catering to various dietary preferences and restrictions. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or simply health-conscious, there's something for everyone here.
Here’s what we brought home to try:
MIXED BERRY Blend of fresh berries: strawberry, blackberry, raspberry & blueberry. Gluten free.
YEAST SECTION:
CRÈME BRÛLÉE.
Our signature doughnut: filled with our own vanilla bean custard and individually torched to caramelize the sugar topping for a true brulee crunch. The Original Crème Brulee Doughnut.

Read moreI’ve ordered donuts from the prospect heights, Williamsburg location, and also Long Island city. Staff are always friendly, I especially enjoy interacting with Olivia at the prospect Heights location. I’ve tried most of the donuts at this point and included a few pictures. Here’s my list:
Divine: carrot cake, Tres leches, coconut cream
Excellent: wild blueberry, crème brûlée, coffee cake, pumpkin cake, apple cinnamon compote, black and white
Good:
Brooklyn blackout: a little dry. I would like to see a vanilla cake with the chocolate pudding, and for the topping, instead of tiny crumbles, larger crumbles.
Strawberry sourdough and chocolate sourdough: it’s awesome that they have a quality sourdough option, they just aren’t my favorite.
Gluten-free almond and gluten-free mixed berry: of these two, prefer the almond. But gluten-free is a step below the regular cake donuts for me.
Peanut butter and jam, and vanilla bean and jam filled: too doughy and not enough filling for my taste. I think the peanut butter one should have peanut butter within the filling in addition to the jam. It felt like eating a very Bready peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Vanilla glaze: quality doughnut, but just not my thing.
I’d like to see more cake filled donut options, also maybe a pistachio cake doughnut with pistachio cream filling. A sour cream donut with a nice hard crusted sour cream glaze would be great. How about a banana donut with chocolate and peanut butter filling and banana glaze. The yeast filled coconut cream is amazing, but I didn’t really care for the other yeast filled donuts, so if they could capture the magic of coconut cream with other flavors would be great.
Lastly, I love the commitment to quality ingredients, but the company should commit to going seed oil free. Ditch the sunflower oil and use a high-quality tallow, ghee, refined coconut oil, high-quality avocado oil, or even palm oil would all be...
