Update: the owner replied and didn't address the lack of grooming and let me know they did gland excretion when I explicitly asked them not to do that. I prefer a vet to do that. If I hadn't left a review it wouldn't have ever been communicated to me that they didn't respect my wishes for them to not do gland excretion on my pup. There is no need to apologize that I SAW my dog FALL/SLIP (not jump out or overpower the human professionals trained to work with dogs (or communicate if they cannot)) out of the tub - an apology for him slipping at all would have sufficed. If dogs shouldn't see people while in the tub... you either communicate that or you don't have the tub in front of the windows, that isn't a clients responsibility to navigate. You all should have communicated better and handled my dog better, but I'm glad he is ok. Definitely won't return or recommend.
I took my mastiff here and wouldn't recommend it for (extra) large breed short haired dogs.
The main issue is that this wasnt an effective grooming session, especially for the price. He's still shedding so much and his nails barely look clipped (which is the main issue). I think he was just too big for them so I just wouldn't recommend this place if you've got a large short haired animal for the price you can find better services.
Overall this was not a good experience for us. We arrived at 10am and it smelled very strongly urine, I don't know how frequently or deeply things are cleaned but it made my dog nervous to enter. I asked when pick up would be, they said 12 and they took an hour to start my pups bath (they started at 11). They were then an hour late for pick up (finished grooming at 12:47), and I did have plans at 1pm.
He fell out of the bath once and that's quite dangerous when wet. I was surprised they didn't have an area to keep him attached or at least have someone in staff theyd feel comfortable with helping to keep a dog in a bath. I watched the fall happen and it could have been prevented easily, maybe they don't have a lot of experience with such large breeds and that's ok, but it's not ok not to make it clear and put my dog at risk from falling! Large dogs have joint issues - don't let them fall all over...
Read more[TERRIBLE CUT & MOST NAILS NOT TRIMMED, EXTREMELY DRY SKIN PAWS N COAT. CHARGED BEFORE SEEING THE CUT&RUSHED OUT W/ NO OFFER OF PHOTO OR COMPLIMENTARY JOURNAL]...The photos here are of the cut he received(immediately after) compared to what he looked like prior to the grooming and the 3 reference photos we gave the groomer. You can clearly see in the photos that what we asked for is not what we received, his face is a mess, itâs all choppy and way too short on the top. Also the majority of my dogs nails were not trimmed and his skin/coat was incredibly dry(we wash and deep condition him once a week with coconut oil for his paws and other doodle products for his skin and coat so he did not go there with dry skin). We are aware puppies can be âwigglyâ(as they like to state in their review responses) and they informed us that he may not be able to get a full grooming if that was the case, so we decided to stick around the area for the entire appointment. We actually watched from the front window and we were pleasantly surprised that our puppy was so still and calm while getting groomed. While we were waiting to pick him up they made sure to charge me before my dog came out from the back and on top of that, they did not take a photo of him or even offer one of those grooming journals everyone gets âcomplimentaryâ. Iâm sure I will receive a generic response to this review about how puppies can be wiggly and all that but we watched him be still with our own eyes and the groomer herself said âhe was perfectâ. I really expected better for the price point. I actually made it a point to do my research and pick what seemed to be a good place(based off reviews) for my pup to get his first grooming. I donât appreciate being charged and rushed out without any explanation as to why my dogs face/head came out the way it did and why only a few of his nails were trimmed, or rather any explanation at all, I was just charged...
Read moreIâm literally sitting here looking at how adorable my fur baby looks and just had to write this review!
I usually take my dog to a grooming salon in Chelsea, but they were booked this time, so I searched for places nearby. After checking out several options, I decided on Pupstudio based on the photos and reviewsâand Iâm so glad I did.
First off, the salon itself is beautiful! Itâs bright, clean, and has such a nice, open layout. I love that you can see the groomers working from the outsideâit gives such a transparent, welcoming feel, and Iâm sure itâs great for the staff too, since it doesnât feel closed in.
Now, Iâll admit Iâm very particular about my dogâs grooming. When I dropped him off (while running late), there was a little miscommunication with Josh at the front desk as I was explaining how I wanted my dogâs cut. Nevertheless, once it was brought to his attention, he immediately apologized, and I appreciated that accountability.
But the real reason Iâm writing this review is because of Elissaâwho I later found out is the managerâand the exceptional service she provided. When I came to pick up my pup, she was unbelievably kind, patient, and professional. I asked for a few adjustments around my dogâs eyes (more than once!) and she never made me feel like an inconvenience. She genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy with the result.
Elissa was the absolute best, and my fur baby looks perfect! Needless to say, they did a fantastic job. Highly recommend this placeâand thank you again, Elissa, for going above and beyond!
Adding some photos so you can see just how cute he...
