On Tuesday at around 4PM my fiance, 15 week old son (who was sleeping) and mother enter into the restaurant. The place was empty without one patron inside, not one and we were immediately seated by a waiter. A person in a dusty wrinkled suit approached me while I was pushing the stroller and pleaded saying that they had "thousands of reservations" and that all the tables in the front were accounted for. He said "oh wow, what a busy night we have planned" --- on a Tuesday no less. He led us down this hallway to a side room down a few stairs to a room that had one table, suitable for 3 people and no room for the stroller as it was wedged against the wall. He kept telling us that it was a bad day and that we picked the wrong place with how busy it will be, almost trying to push us out. We knew what he was doing and left. I returned about an hour later after we had enjoyed a meal down the street to see about 10 to a dozen people inside the restaurant. The place was about 10-15% filled. To be honest, the sketch ball was a liar and a fool and If you have children, I would NOT go to this restaurant. We were treated with such disrespect, all because we have a child. Going by there stats on google 4 and 5 PM (usually not too...

Moreover, when we were looking for a new spot for dadโs birthday in the area of the tram from Roosevelt Island, I called the restaurantโฆmagically this splendid wise-beyond-her years hostess, Devina, fortunately answered the phone & took the reservation. โOh, itโs your birthday, 10/4, same as mine! You will absolutely love the restaurant.โ

ย ย ย Read moreIsle of Capri is a fantastic Italian restaurant in the UES serving some of the most fresh and authentic Italian cuisine I have ever had. The restaurant gives off an intimate vibe with old-style decor and comfortable seating. It felt like a restaurant out of an old movie scene. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They were able to give us good suggestions off the menu and served us with a smile.
They started us off with some warm bread and butter but we didn't even eat that much since our order came out so quick. My party ordered the eggplant and chicken parm, and let me tell you that eggplant parm was out of this world. The thin and crispy eggplant layered with cheese and sauce just melted in my mouth. I would go back just to order more of that. Since I am vegetarian, I didn't get to try the chicken parm but my friend devoured the entire dish, so I'm assuming it was very good.
The restaurant is very clean and spacious. They have private seating as well as main floor seating. Parking is difficult to find near the restaurant so try to walk or come by...
