Worst in store experience and I don't say this lightly. I walked in and stood at a corner waiting for my friend and had my hands on one of the empty counters. Then this sales associate (Melvin/Marvin i believe) walked over and started folding clothes super close to me so I had to take my hands off the counter. Once he left I put my hands back on the counter still waiting for my friend, then he comes back again and starts folding clothes on that counter and says "excuse me". Mind you, there were at least twenty counters in that flagship store he could have folded clothes at. He then proceeds to ask me if I was waiting for coffee, which I presume if I said yes he would just tell me to move. I said no I'm waiting for my friend so we can go shopping, so he stops talking. I was already pretty pissed at this point. My friend finally came and as we were shopping upstairs we were approached by his colleague to see if we needed help so we gave him our feedback on this situation. Melvin came by and was in disbelief that we were offended and starts giving excuses X,Y, and Z. It was not even close to a sincere apology and we were going back and forth so my friend eventually said: If you're not going to just apologize about the situation we don't need to keep talking. He said that it was company policy that he folds clothes at that one counter, which just sounds ridiculous to me. But Ralph Lauren if you have that type of policy and hire people like that, then you're not the respectable brand I thought you were. Super disappointing consumer...
Read moreI had an extremely negative experience at the flagship womens store. We were visiting New York and decided to stop in to see their coffee shop and do a little bit of shopping. We ended up finding a antique jewelry piece that we liked. It was listed as Circa 1890 and 18k gold. One-of-a-kind piece and we liked it so we bought it… Imagine my surprise when I bring it to my jeweler upon getting home and they tell me that it is not in fact entirely gold.
I contacted the sales representative at the store (Michele) to set up a return. Which they refuse to do. A bunch of back-and-forth and they finally offered me $200 as a refund. Which seems absurd. I requested either a refund or a 20% discount so that I could have my jeweler fix the issue.. which seemed reasonable. This piece was not cheap at a price point of $2,449.69.
I told the representative I understand that typically they do not return antique pieces that surely this was an exception. Apparently not. They lied and misrepresented their product and will not return it now.
I wanted to work it out with the store but now I will be going to American Express and working it out that way.
I have texts and photos to...
Read moreRacist employee. 12/08 at around 5:45 pm, I went to the store to pick up an order I made online, and I waited as two employees were assisting a white lady in front of me. They were all smiling and over-friendly while talking to her and packing her order. When it was my time the lady switched her mood immediately. As I talked to her, she would constantly look at me up and down with disgust, even though she was a woman of color herself. She was staring at my tote bag uncomfortably, like I was not supposed to be wearing one (although I was carrying a Prada backpack in my back). I didn’t know there was a dress code to walk in your store, Ralph Lauren, so maybe next time, I should wear designer head-to-toe if I want to be treated with dignity. She looked visibly annoyed that I was there, like she was only helping me because she was forced to. She eventually brought my order and didn’t put effort into packing it. She expected that I would carry a $200 sweater in a UPS mailing box, and when I said I wanted a bag, another employee put it in a paper bag—a very disappointing...
