While on vacation in NYC, I told my sister that I love getting my hair washed before a haircut. She told me that head spas were a thing, so of course we had to check one out. We booked the 60 minute steam scalp treatment and head massage. It was incredible! The team at Refresh Head Spa is very professional and friendly. They checked in several times throughout the treatment to make sure we were comfortable with the pressure and the temperature. The lady at the front desk accidentally overcharged us because she thought we had booked the higher tier option; she caught her mistake and came outside to double check with us and refunded us to make it the correct amount. I got a head massage with herbal steaming for 60 minutes and my upper body feels so relieved. My scalp feels refreshed. They start massaging with some oils and then shampooing your hair while massaging. It felt like a deep clean for my hair and scalp. After that, they rinse your hair with conditioner. Following the hair wash and massage they begin to steam your scalp - here you relax for about 15 mins before removing the steam and all the products from your hair. At the end they dry your hair with a blow dryer.

Overall, I wished I had extended my time to get some more of the head massage but, it was definitely worth the 60 minutes. It relieved a lot of tension from my neck and shoulders too.

One of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcomed and at ease. The head spa treatment was absolutely incredible—so calming that I actually fell asleep during it! You can tell they really know what they’re doing and care about making you feel good.

Afterward, they styled my hair and it came out looking amazing—such a nice touch to end the visit. The atmosphere is peaceful, clean, and perfect for anyone needing to unwind and reset.
