Chinese Musician — Restaurant in New York

We had such an awful experience with this restaurant that I actually opened my laptop on this holiday break, and on boxing day nonetheless. The TL;DR is that the food was awful, it arrived 3+ hours later (despite being super close), and they messed up rice. RICE!!

Yesterday, we ordered dinner from this place at 6:53pm via Seamless - where it has a 4.5 star rating (absolutely inaccurate rating if you ask me!), who estimated a delivery time of 8:15-25. At 8:30 we called the restaurant and it was busy. We kept trying and finally got through only to find that the food wasn't even ready. READ: TWO AND A HALF HOURS SINCE WE ORDERED AND OUR FOOD WAS NOT READY?! At first, I heard the lady on the phone to be stressed out, but as the call progressed she sounded annoyed by our call. She said it would be delivered in another 25 minutes. 25 minutes later, no food. So, I contacted Seamless who told us it would arrive at 9:15, another 15-20 minutes later. It did arrive at 9:15 on the dot... and it was missing an item, somehow Mongolian Beef was fried (?!) and they gave us two servings of hard, undercooked rice. Seriously, how do you mess up RICE?!!

Thankfully Seamless credited us, plus gave us the money back for the missing item and the undercooked rice. However, I will N-E-V-E-R order from here again. I don't think I've had a worse meal or ordering/calling/delivery experience. Don't ever trust a Chinese restaurant that serves...

I had just ordered 2 general Taos chicken combination platter & 1 barbecue spareribs combination platter. I have been dining with Chinese musician for over 30 years plus my family. The general Taos chicken wasn't crunchy!! It didn't have that nice crunchy breading over it, where it was just sautéed very spicy the pork fried rice was just yellow rice with no vegetables & The eggroll was all grease! When I called to complain they put the manager on he seems very defensive. I even asked if there was a new cook ?! I Did not ask to get compensated, as I have been in the restaurant industry for 35 years! The Customer service & food everything was very disappointing! IAfter 30+ years me and my family will NEVER !! Go back to Chinese musician they have to be under new management! If it is still family owned the original owners would be very disappointed in how this restaurant is being run. Don't waste...

Food is always tasty , fresh and never greasy . This is the only place my mom with eat Chinese food at, period . We come in groups as little as 2 and as big as 10 - yes they have a round table big enough to handle that number of guests. Reminds us of the good ole days when you actually got the tea, fried noodles with duck sauce, sit down relax and talk to each other while feasting on fresh food and an actual waiter to serve you instead of what most places are now - a fast food take out joint, with greasy - not so good food that just happens to be just good enough for that moment lol . Staff is friendly and attentive and the prices are decent for the quality of food you get . No time to enjoy a sit down meal , no worries the food is just as fresh when you pick up or have...
