This is a Japanese handroll restaurant which is sort of like a sushi taco instead of maki rolls. If you have eaten at Kazunori in Manhattan, it is a similar experience.
The primary dining experience involves ordering a course of hand rolls and then having five sushi tacos made and set in front of you woth a little break in between them as the chef prepares them.
The food is very high quality. Even the ginger and wasabi are good. I will eat here again. I advise you too as well
I went on a Thursday in August a couple of months after it had opened and so it was mostly empty. I’n sure that will change as soon as August ends and word spreads
The acoustics are odd, which led to misunderstandings with the staff. Second course was nigiri which tasted really good and were large pieces of fish. The handrolls were great quality too, and at the end of the meal my boyfriend and I left full. I recommend the counter seating, specifically the one facing the kitchen curtain (so perpendicular to the work station), because we got great views of...
Read morezero vibe. i felt like i stepped into a sheepshead bay restaurant where sushi artists wear lab coats. I chose the middle option for $42 hard earned dollars. The beers are all bottle, no draft, decided to pass on that. The first nori sandwich came out and after 2 bites it was gone, the same happened to the other 4, after 15 mins I was done, and hungry. I think no normal person will be full after 5, you need about 7-8 to feel fine, but at about 60$ you might as well just go to a normal sushi restaurant. The food is good, just too small and pricey. I wont...
