Ridgewood YMCA — Local services in New York

This facility is ran so poorly. The front desk is rude and has an attitude about everything. They act entitled and lack any training in customer service. If you don’t like your job, find a new one! Don’t make the customer suffer! When this is brought to the managers attention, he seems unsure of himself, sometimes comes up with excuses for why staff are acting in that manner, then proceeds to allow them to continue their poor behavior. I’m not sure if he is scared, but they have no respect for him and it shows. Stop trying to be their friend, you are their boss. The child watch girls are awesome and always have a smile on their faces. But the summer camp is the worst I have ever seen. Not going on promised trips, not organized to know when kids need to bring lunch or not, not posting a schedule for the week until the Monday mid morning of that same week. You will find out it was sprinkler day when you pick up your child and when you ask why didn’t anyone let me know?, they respond with “we don’t know what days we are doing water days until the day of” when I mentioned the disorganized activity’s, calendar of events and staff confusion, the staff themselves answered with an embarrassing smile, “yeah, I know, no one ever knows what’s going on here,” It’s sad. I never have stepped foot in a YMCA, this was my first experience. I don’t qualify for “low income benefits and free summer camp” and this place is DEFINITELY not worth anything more than free. I was appalled of the horrible customer service after paying $550 for a session of camp. I gave them the benefit of the doubt in the beginning, and 3 sessions later has gotten worse. I will never return, not for the gym, classes, or especially any camp programs. They need to close this entire location and spend 2 months training the staff. Better yet fire each and every one of them to build a strong, organized, FRIENDLY team. I do not recommend anyone to go to...

Had a horrible summer camp experience here. Our 4 year old was told he wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom at the park. Staff was terrible at communicating with us. I would get calls nearly every day about him crying nonstop, but when my partner picked him up he was told there were no issues that day. When I confronted the lead counselor, she said that my partner was picking him up at the car pick-up so that’s why information was getting lost. But my partner had walked inside to pick him up from the classroom every day. I finally figured out he was being bullied by another child (which i witnessed dropping off multiple times), and they were very dismissive and basically gave me a “boys will be boys” response. My partner also saw staff at pick-up grabbing children roughly by the arms. Basically a complete lack of kindness and respect.

I give them one star i really dont know who run this place did some one watch its ok with equipmemt. Internet cleaning??? Teruble internet you going second floor no internet your are in bike no internet runing no internet cleaning at all corners smell bad if someone can left a pc of gum in treadmill you will see for a weeks in same spot , 21 century. No internet how you. Waiting good rating mos rsting you get becouse someone now staff. Becouse of that than you get 5 start otherways every 2 person will give you one star. , new costumers registered first day showing location and later staff see that using wrongly equipment even not going to ask for help. , please if really someone care about this gym before start losing costumers good to fix this issues i mention???!!!!
