I used to enjoy coming here, but my latest experience will be my last.
I was buying two sport coats, and the selection offered was a little scary, all wide plaids and horse blankets (I am too old for these). We settled on two coats that were more subdued and had a fitting. The tailor did a few swipes and that was that. While I was there a woman in charge came to criticize my salesman about something loudly and right in front of me, which was offputting to say the least. That salesman, my favorite, has since retired. When I went back to pick up the coats, but they were very confused as to where they were, what date I was expected, etc. No apparent system in place. I tried the coats on and they fit very badly. The sleeves looked like spirals when I moved even a little. The tailor returned, complained to me a bit, like it was my fault, more chalk marks, and took them away. Now a week later, I'm back and once again it takes them a bit too long to figure out where my coats are.
Tried them on again, and and they still fit badly and the chalk marks are all still on the coats. Were they really altered? They insisted they were. Felt the same to me. The owner appeared and tried on one of the coats, made note of what he saw and disappeared with it downstairs. I tried on the second, and it made me look like Donald Duck (OK, I could stand to lose some weight.) At these prices I was not interested in settling for something I did not like (I can do that for a lot less at Century 21) so I opted for a refund, which to their credit they readily offered. They told me that with my sloping shoulders, I was too difficult to fit and should basically lower my expectations. Nice.
I do not expect to return, which is too bad, as I have come to this store many times before. As the saying goes, it takes a lot of work to get a customer, but it is very easy...
Read moreI’m really confused why there’s good reviews here. I live in the neighborhood and this place is constantly empty. The security here is ridiculous, they have essentially a body guard that unlocks the door when you walk up. My boyfriend and I walked in and there were 10 employees standing around that barely paid attention to us. We felt completely unwelcome and it was likely due to us coming in with work out clothes (it’s Saturday morning). We both work in corporate (advertising & pharma in our mid 30s) and was looking for a blazer for my boyfriend, but the looks we got from their team made the experience horrible. I understand they’re looking for a certain clientele, but it’s free to be nice to customers that were looking to invest in a...
Read moreCame in this morning at 11 am and told the woman at the front that I was ready to buy (2) custom suits and a sport coat. She texted the manager and told me that the manager told her that no one was going to be available to help me until at least 12:30 as I was told that everyone that could help me was in a meeting.
I told her that I had to catch a plane at 3 and said that I was ready to buy the two custom suits and the coat today. The woman at the front texted someone again and told me that again nothing could be done.
Ok, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. I’m just surprised as I made it clear that I was ready to buy your products, you clearly weren’t interested in selling them to me. Pretty poor...
