Not recommend!!!! I used to like them, but not anymore. The owner Teo is a good dancer but after being there frequently for almost a year I decided never go back again for the following reasons: 1 They use class time to check if you have register the class in their app: Teo calls people's names one by one(yes 1 by 1), and see who did not register for the class. This is ridiculous, we go there to dance, not to waste 10 min to hear you calling people names. And it's your responsibility to make check in easier but our responsibilities. 2 They disabled classpass. And that makes their classes not deserve the price anymore. Especially he always start classes late for ~10 or even 15 min. 3 They hold some parties and stuff outside the class which is nice for people who want to social and become friends. I have been to a couple but the experiences were awful. And he likes to ask people to help prepare or clean the places, I think he should let the nice people who volunteered get into the party for free rather than just use their time for free. 4 This is just my observations so may not be true: but I feel very uncomfortable when attending an event there and Teo kissed his partner instructor in front of us. I would feel very awkward if I were the poor girl. Maybe it's a coincidence but I never seen that instructor girl ever again after that. Maybe it's unrelated but again I would not like being treated like that.
There are so many other salsa and dance choices in NYC, though the class is ok here I just don't feel comfortable to go there anymore or suggest...
Read moreThe folks at Salsa Sabrosa are knights in shining armour. I'd come to the area with a very limited time frame and was yearning for a salsa lesson before I jumped into deeper dancing waters. Let me tell you: Not only were they incredibly communicative, caring, and accommodating with a very quick turnaround, they loaded me with a beautiful hefty bag of applicable knowledge to take with me to Salsa Congress and beyond. I worked with Mariano for only an hour, and he was able to assess what my needs were in real time. He gave great feedback, and made sure to cater our lesson towards the things that I'd need the most. If he could teach this bunny-ear-handed flamingo, with two slightly left feet, who always ends her turns in another state of the country, I would gladly bet that any of their crew could help anyone looking to expand their skills. They are an unforeseen blessing. I will always be grateful for this day with them and do hope to drop by (with much more notice Lol) sometime in the near future....
Read moreI went to brush up on my salsa and had so much fun! Renzo (the dance instructor/director) had such great energy the entire time, made learning fun, and taught many useful dance steps and techniques for both beginners and experienced dancers. The people attending the indoor group classes were nice, young, and respectful. I recommend bringing a bottle of water and wearing comfortable shoes as you'll end up dancing to fast-paced music! This school has many social events hosted indoors and outdoors. You can attend free outdoor group classes on certain days (donations are appreciated to keep them going and are well-deserved after receiving a fun workout!) Some classes teach solo steps (great if you want to social distance or don't have a partner) while other classes have students rotate (in case you need a partner.) Both their indoor and outdoor group classes are worth...
