The SINGLE most HORRIFIC experience in my life: Michael, Manager uses advertising that is not accurate. He called me a profane disgusting name when I called Expedia due to tiny room, no ceiling =no sleep due to snoring. I am disabled/handicapped. He had the gall to ask me to prove it? Three flights of cast irons stairs. If you fell. Death would most likely occur. Showers are used by men & woman. I have pictures of how disgusting they were. Bathroom needed cleaning, hall congested with paint cans & junk. I tripped the first night & scratched/bruised upper right thigh. I found (bed) bugs under covers the next night. No full size twin, wifi did not work, no A/C & it went as high as 97 degrees. I ate 1/2 bagel at breakfast x1 & was chastised for being three minutes after breakfast, by Michael. No sleep for 4 nights. I called Expedia as early as the 18th as my stay was September 16-21st. No sleep and stress are autoimmune enemies. I was told by Expedia a full refund would be given. Four credits were there, then two disappeared, were taken back. Who takes back refunds? I left for JFK exhausted. I have a seizure disorder usually brought on by extreme stress. I collapsed, was seizing, rushed to hospital. I do not remember, but a good bang on head. A Doctor found me. I had to walk alone from hospital at 4am to subway, etc. I incurred huge medical expenses. It took 26 hours at airport for my next flight as I missed my scheduled flight due to seizures. It is a FIRE trap. Exposed wire, no sprinklers, wires near water, fire boxes unwired. I guess you jump out a three story window. I reported to police. Bad area of town. A "unique vegetarian hostel" but they do not have food service, no bed changing. After three days with same towel, I asked for another and I was refused. I contracted COVID and symptoms started at « Chelsea Cabins on 19th. Rooms have NO CEILING therefore susceptible to easily breathing in air droplets, as several men around me where snoring (open mouths). Perfect way to contract COVID. Save yourself a headache. I would not recommend this hotel, not even as a last resort. The very fact that acquired COVID and I have auto immune diseases, being disabled/ handicapped and bed bugs? Makes me sick. I am so very ill with COVID after over a week. Expedia stated a full refund and emailed info to me. Michael, the manager is arguing that it was for two nights and not four. Though, he charged three times the going rate. I had to file a dispute with my bank. Please, do not stay here. No towel? Michael you stole my money. Be a Manager and view your fake photos vs my real ones and REFUND THE TWO DAYS that were refunded and reversed. I would not give one star, but negative...
Read moreMyself and my partner stayed here for a few days at the beginning of January. From the pictures we thought it would be small but nicely cosy, then with the price and location and how nice the rooms looked on the management images we thought it was a good deal. However, when we got to our room we was very disappointed, it was literally just a double bed pushed against a wall and a railing to hang clothes. For some reason there was fridge too big for the size of the room which we thought bizarre. The professional pictures you see are clearly taken to make the rooms appear bigger than they are. Don't be deceived like we was! ||||There was two shower rooms and two toilets on the floor. One toilet of which is as small as a cupboard meaning everyone on the floor would be using the other toilet which was more spacious. Hygienically it was not very pleasant.||||On the subject of hygiene our bedroom was not cleaned throughout our stay, bedding never changed, and sporadically the bin would get emptied. We had to go ask for fresh towels.||||The is a large vertical pipe in the corner of the room wrapped in rope. Hot water is running through this pipe giving off a lot of heat. We had no control over the temperature of it, and due to the tiny size of the room it was boiling at night. We had to sleep with the window open!! Even with ear plugs the street was so loud with the window open.||||The building stunk of smoke. At one point when our window was open we actually realised the people in the room next to us where smoking by their window. I went down to the woman at the reception who seemed disinterested when I told her (she was watching netflix). I went back to my room listening for her to speak to the neighbours, she never did. ||||The wifi is beyond terrible, we ended up using another wifi from the city link wifi (not sure what it's called). But there was a private wifi for the receptionist I noticed which clearly was decent due to her watching netflix on the company computer.||||The worst thing about this place was after a long day in the city on our feet, we usually enjoy going back to the hotel wherever we are staying for a bit of chill time. I hated going back to this place every evening. ||||If it was cheaper I might be less disappointed with a "you pay for what you get" kinda attitude. But nope it is overpriced for what you get coming with sooo many issues. ||||This is the worse review...
