Went here to get my nails done - a treat to myself. I have lived in the area for two years with my husband and always thought it would be a nice place to go - support a local business.
From the minute that I walked in, it was clear that my business was not wanted. I needed to say hello twice in order to be acknowledged by the individual behind the counter. I made it clear that I was looking to get a shellac manicure. She seemed surprised I had even brought up the idea, but went ahead to write down in information and told me to come back shortly. I kindly accepted and went about my day.
Upon return, the nail technician showed me the color selection and told me to pick a color. After reviewing them for maybe thirty seconds, she returned to ask me what I was looking for. I explained a warm off white and that I was looking to do a shellac manicure. She quickly said that she did not do those and I should just pick a color. I explained that on the website shellac manicures are listed and that I had confirmed this specific treatment when I made the appointment. She quickly dismissed this, explaining she does not do them, and again pressured me to select a color. Being met again with this response, I kindly excused myself to leave as this was not the service that I was looking for. Not a word was said to acknowledged my response by her or the individual behind the counter. I left with an overwhelming sense of defeat.
I understand that it may seem off putting to some that a man would want to get his nails done. However, this is not a reason to treat a custumer the way that they did. I am disheartened. The year is 2023. We live in New York City....
Read moreDon’t waste your money. I have lived in the neighborhood for several months and thought I would give this place a try. Mani, pedi and lip wax ran me $118 (before tip) and took 2.5 hours! I have never had nails take so long. I wouldn’t have minded so much, except several are chipped (not even 24 hours later), and that price did not include lotion for my hands or feet, or any type of rub. There was also no drying process, light or fan, they just rushed me out (which is probably part of what contributed to chipping). The spa itself seems like it’s seen better days. It’s slightly run down, towels are old and grimy looking, pedicure chair was rickety, and the cleaning/sanitizing procedures didn’t seem great. Not to mention there were very few choices for nail color, and most of the Essie colors were old (no OPI). The technician working on me was nice enough, but sorry, I can’t justify the price for...
Read moreI called them to check the price on the phone and the lady who answered said "$19" i checked and asked "1-9?" she said yes! After the hair cut i was charged $90. I asked I thought it was $19? The same woman at the front desk said no, it's 90, you misheard. I said, but I had checked, 1-9? She said that I've been there before so either way I should know the price... I have never been before!! I only ever go to super cuts but since there is none in this neighborhood I thought I'd go to the place that only charges $19 instead!
Either way, the haircut took ~20 minutes to do, the hair dresser was nice but not at all worth $90. I guess if you're rich and want to spend $90 on a haircut fine, but maybe donate some money instead. That is 1/5th of my pay for a full work week. Don't recommend it - rich people you're being scammed. Spend your money on something that matters please. The world...
