I have lived here for a month now (April 2023) and I can give you a good assessment and a fair critique of the pros and cons of staying here.

Pros: The manager (Lana), owner and security are friendly and responsive. I find them to be professional and helpful. If I ever have any questions or need any assistance -- they are quick to get back to me with help. The accessibility to the city is wonderful. Greenpoint, Brooklyn is a lovely part of NYC. It has access to good bike lanes, citi bikes, subway and other public transport. There is great food, grocery stores, coffee, and shops around. There is also an incredible view of the city from the Drive-In theater lot and RV parking spots. I feel very safe here and I have never had even the slightest feeling of not being safe. The gates are usually effective in keeping random people out. My belongings have never been messed with.

Cons: Unfortunately, this RV parking lot is never quiet. In fact, it is always very loud. If you're planning to work/virtual meetings in your RV I would be mindful during the day. There is full construction going on directly behind the parking lot on a building that starts at 7am and goes all day. Workers don't seem to have any regard for people living in their trailers in the early mornings. Then in the evening, the movies play in front of the RVs, and the volume is loud until after midnight sometimes. Secondly, there is no grass, trees, or anything that resembles an RV park. It is just a cement parking lot with electric/water hookups. Sadly, it is also very dirty and there is often trash blowing about in the wind which is pretty constant on the water. There is no pet relief area, so if you have an animal with you they will only have cement to go to the bathroom. I have only seen one groundskeeper on my first day in April, and since then I have not seen anyone.

With all that being said -- I do really enjoy being here. It definitely is not perfect, but if you're coming for a few days to explore the city and you have ear plugs -- I think it is a great spot to stay. I think the more time this RV parking lot is open and running, the better...

I'm hesitant to leave a poor review because I'm not sure our experience is common, but it wasn't great.

The great parts: The location is every bit as wonderful as advertised. It is breathtaking, especially at night. The restrooms and showers are clean and working. The neighborhood around it is incredibly lovely. We fell in love with Brooklyn there. Great places to eat nearby and great access to transportation. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Alex, the camp host. You will not meet a better guy and he takes his job seriously. We were so grateful for him considering our problems.

So, our family of five weaved through the streets of New York towing a camper only to find we couldn't park anywhere. Long story short, we booked our 2 night stay in June back in January. We had printed the email receipt thankfully so we had proof, but they had leased out the entire space to someone else. Multiple calls to their number were never answered and never returned. We honestly did not know what we were going to do. In swoops Alex to save the day. I think the management is the issue, especially since they never returned our calls and clearly did not book things correctly.

I would not say don't stay here. I would say, print your email receipt, call at least two weeks before you stay to double check, and request the number for the camp host in case you run into problems.

The only other considerations should be 1) The parking is tight - this is New York City. I would double check space if you have slide outs. 2) It is in New York City - it is not quiet by any stretch so just be aware of that difference from a...

This was supposed to be our “babymoon.” We traveled from Massachusetts and dealt with 6 hours of traffic only to have a difficult experience. When we arrived, there was someone in our spot. They refused to move, even though we had a specific site confirmed, and they just reserved for an available spot. The manager Dennis, tried to alleviate the situation, but the people in our spot refused to move, and the owner, Lana, only available by phone, did nothing to rectify the situation. We have a 32ft trailer, which is why we picked the site that we did. The people in our spot had a trailer that was half the size of ours. They tried to tell us that no one was in their spots and that we should just get over it. So, another RV had to move to another spot, because we had no generator or water, since we specifically paid for a spot with water and power. The new spot was not meant for a 32ft trailer and a truck to finagle into, with a large RV parked right in front. We had to jack-knife our trailer to get it into that spot, when we would’ve been able to easily back into our original site. The first night was awful, our truck was dented in the process, and we didn’t get the view we paid for. The site itself is decent. The staff on-site was nice, but the logistics and management is completely chaotic and unprofessional. There was no follow-up about rectifying the situation or getting us the spot we reserved. What is the point of reserving a specific spot if it...

First, the good. I stayed on a Saturday and Sunday in July. The rv park was not cramped. Maybe half full. The view of New York on the water was excellent. The cost for 2 nights was $280. Very fair for the location. The bad... The check-in was simple. I called the manager on the phone and he was friendly. I booked online, and it said I had space 10, but that was taken. He informed me to take any available space. All had good views of the waterfront, but that didn't seem like a good way to do things imo. The parking lot is very dirty. Trash and litter are all over. I even found and tossed a few screws in the rv parking area. There is no drainage and water from the RV air conditioners all collect around the vehicles, so you drag water in and out. No nice dry area to sit. The electric cables are sitting in water. You stand in water to hook up and disconnect. Not cool. No one serviced the trash cans over the weekend, and they were overflowing. The bathrooms are nice and spacious but were also not cleaned all weekend. The shower stalls offer no privacy and are in a room surrounded by glass. Even with all the bad, the price and location make it one of the best RV camp areas in New York, and I would visit again.

Skyline has 2 lots, one block apart. This is NOT a campground, but rather old parking lots that they have "jerry-rigged" with 30/50amp boxes that are actually wired backwards to the CB's! Portable style bathroom/showers. Even though we booked 6 nights at the waterfront lot, we were bumped twice for 3 nights, short notice, for production crews who wanted to use the waterfront lot. You can only communicate with management via email. They have an amazing Host/Security person (Frank) who went above and beyond, but he is limited by management what he can do. It is a nightmare to get to with a Class A rig w/ toad (but we did it). It is filthy and noisy. We had partiers sneak on the lot one night. Neighbors got into a fight with another camper another night. Hey, it's NYC!!! Stay at your own risk. The ONLY good thing about this place is Location, Location, Location. We walked 3 blocks everyday to the NYC ferry and it was fantastic.
