I bought 2 one hr massage on Lifebooker and even though I read the reviews, I thought, massage would be okay. An older man, Koba was my masseuse. Even though he told me to take everything off and lie face down under the towel, I kept my undies on. He didn't ask if I had any preference or areas that were stiff, he just dived in. The massage itself started out okay but he began to linger too much on my inner thighs and the sides by my breasts. Then, he told me to flip over. I expected décolleté, face massage and maybe some leg. He started at my neck, moving towards my armpit and slowly crept inward until he was giving me a full mammogram! I thought , okay, although its the first time ever that my breasts were massaged in my experience of getting monthly body massages over past several years, all over Manhattan, I was going to let it go. Maybe that's his style? But he just kept massaging my breasts at which point I told him "I don't really need my breasts massaged." I mean, I don't have kinks on my breats!!! He stopped abruptly and asked if I preferred my neck and shouldered massaged. I said yes. So thats what he did for the last few minutes.
After the embarrassing and humiliating ordeal was over, I went to the front desk and told the Manager and the receptionist that the massage was weird and that he massaged my breasts. Did they massage breasts here? The manager said they did massage the upper chest but not the actual breasts. Then they=y both fell silent, so I told them to talk to the masseuse and that I'm not leaving a tip. I called back 10 minutes later, and told them I'm not comfortable making another appointment and asked for a refund to which the receptionist said I could request from Lifebooker and that they wouldn't refuse it but she then recommended making an appt with a female for next time. She said they spoke to him and he was trying to give me a full body massage....Seriously??? I don't know what they are trying to pull! I came in because of my chronic back pain, shoulder and neck pain from being in front of a computer all day. Not to be molested by a creepy man. She did apologize and said she hoped my next experience would be better.... I don't think they realize the depth of wrongness or how serious this is.
My conclusion, if you want to be sexually...
Read moreI've been a customer at Elaine Randee Salon for over 15 years. It was a very well run establishment and I've never had a problem with their services. It is now under new management and most of the former employees are no longer there. " I miss you Elana! " Welcoming the new renovations and staff, one would think that any change would be for the better. Not in this case. I made an appointment for a manicure/pedicure; my usual once a month treat, set for 1 pm. I get there on time and I'm told that its for 1:15, Victoria is running behind. I had to just ask for a manicure and come back the following day for the pedicure as I have an engagement at 2 pm sharp. Fine. Until I was receiving my manicure..,something I've had done for years. I'm feeling that my nails are being done in a hurry. I say nothing and just keep my eyes closed. Until I feel the sharp pain in my fourth digit from the cuticle cutter. Ouch! Blood...I'm upset now...OK...This is defiantly a rush job. I say very little, my nails are done, I tip and I'm on my way. Day 2. I arrive at 1 pm which was my scheduled appointment. I pay in advance as I normally do. I'm told to go upstairs to meet Victoria. Alas! she's painting someones toe nails with polish and it looks like she just started. I'm not familiar with the procedure, but I'm going to assume a second coat would be applied. Someone stops to ask me if they can help me and I tell them I'm here for my scheduled appointment with Victoria...they both look at each other with aw and I hear, that the lady who's toes are being done will also have her manicure done by Victoria. Not one word from me...I just turn around...run downstairs...collect my refund...and leave. New management, new furnishings, new staff...horrible service. Sometimes things should just stay the way they are. Not...
Read moreUpdate on the situation that I described earlier. I still didn’t get the refund for my pre-paid visits. As I was sharing, that the fractional I did some time ago wasn’t the same at all, there was no result they are using it on a minimum now for all skin types. It was not my first visit, I did fractional there for 3 years and all of the sudden, they tried to convince me that I have the palest skin possible, which is ridiculous, the skin type doesn’t change overnight.
The stuff told me that the management will be on Monday, so I came on Monday, I drove 40 min, I paid for the parking and the management was not there. I lost all that time for nothing and they were arguing with me and telling “sorry we can’t help you”. They couldn’t refund me even my pre-paid visits. So now I also lost 2 hours of my time for nothing and had to pay for parking.
After I was ignored for several days I left a bad review on which the manager replied to email her, without leaving the email address...
I finally reached Jody by the phone and she told me that SHE was offended by the bad review I left! She wouldn’t even listen what I had to go through to get to the review, how much time I had to loose and to how much of the bad attitude to get. And SHE was so offended. Jody was cutting me off all the time and said that she will only refund the prepaid fractional, but not the other services or the bad service that they provided. How many of you would want to return to such a “great” place? Nobody.
She even had a nerve to call me and demand to delete my bad review...
