KX Burger & Beyond — Restaurant in New York

My girlfriend and I found this restaurant on tik tok because we were looking for burger spots in Astoria. The reviews were very good, so we decided to give it a try. Once looking at the menu, we both found dishes we liked. We got the Mac & cheese balls as an appetizer. 10/10 tasted great. Once we ordered our food, I got the chicken sandwich, the Blues Chick, and it was awful, way too salty. So I called one of the server over to let him know and how I did not like the sandwich and instead wanted the burger my girlfriend had, the Bad Boy. It was unfortunate that this burger was also not good, but was a better option, I suppose.

We had called one of the servers over to explain the situation, and he said that he would let the chef know. He can back to the table and said to give them a minute & they were calling the manager on the phone. Which was very odd. I have never heard of that before. Once our waitress got off the phone with the manager, she came back to our table and asked what was going on. Before I could even get my words out, she stated that there was nothing that they could do and I would still have to pay for the food because, “it was on the table already and I ate it.” However, all I ate was the fries and one bite of the sandwich, since I had to taste it to see if I liked what I ordered. The waitress said she would be right back and was gonna call the manager, again. When she returned, she was able to take the sandwich and replace it.

My issue wasn’t that they had to get in touch with the manager. The lack of customer service was the issue that I had.There were assumptions made that concluded I was not going to be able to get refunded. I will admit the waitress was apologetic after the fact, but if she would have come over to the table directly to ask why I didn’t like the sandwich, this issue could have been avoided.

This place was absolutely disgusting. I have been going here for over a year and the food quality has gone down immensely, it is extremely overpriced. I got such bad food poisoning from this place that I was shocked. It was so bad we were considering medical attention. The meats were no good. I ordered boneless wings to be delivered and the wings looked like I was given the bottom of the barrel that was refried over three times I asked for a ranch, that was half full and they left all of the boxes open in the bag so whoever was delivering it could’ve easily opened them taken food and closed them again. When I open my french fries, they look like they had been tempered with because again they did not staple the bag or put any sort of plastic wrap around the containers. Please be aware going to this place. This happened to me. The food poisoning was like no other, please be careful. I do not know how they store their meats or their food or what they use to fry things or when they change that oil they fry with. someone can get seriously sick from here. lost another customer and my family. never again. We are also not the only ones I went through their negative reviews and found two other customers that have written about food poisoning from this place so we are not...

Oof... what an experience. After sitting around at my table waiting for nobody to take my order I had to go in and ask what to do, to which a friendly but confused kitchen offered to take it.

20 minutes later my quesadilla comes out which was like runny chicken stew piled into a tortilla and very difficult to eat. If it was tasty I may not have minded that, but despite the variety of ingredients it tasted like a cheap Campbells Chunky soup. Served on a wooden cutting board was also an unappealing choice for such a liquidy messy meal. Wood is absorbent and who wants to be scraping wet food off of it? Felt unclean.

The actual server working there had zero contact with me aside from bringing the food, at which point he offered me water and that took another 5 minutes. I was one of 2 people eating there for lunch. What gives?
