Avoid this place at all costs. I was walking by a few months ago and thought to walk in just to check it out since I was new in town and was looking for somewhere to get a professional fitting.
I went in and the owner was inside, asked if he does fitting he said yes, so then I asked if he does fittings for certain makers or just anything, he replies arrogantly saying he only does one specific maker because thats the only maker that makes proper clubs. I then tell him I prefer another maker since I think they make easier to hit clubs for mid range handicappers. He then starts to diss that maker and speak in such a disrespectful manner about how people like me know nothing about a golf club and how he was a former professional with years in the business.
I was taken aback by the attitude. Then he starts quizzing me in the most combative and disrespectful way saying âdo you know anything about clubs? Do you know whatâs a grind?â I know whatâs a grind but not exactly able to explain it in english since itâs not my first language. I say yes I know the grind. So he answers in the most arrogant of ways âso what is the grind?â I just couldnât find words to answer as he was so intimidating and needlessly offensive. Not at all the usual golf camaraderie youâd be used to. I just took myself and went out. Never again to step...
Read moreWhen I joined a few months ago, my handicap was in the low 20s but my scores were wildly inconsistent (low 90s to close to 110). My back was also sore for days after a round. I embraced Scottâs math/physics-based methodology (even when I didnât full believe it would work) and saw my scores steadily improve. My handicap is down to 18, I just played 3 rounds in 4 days on vacation, and golf is a lot more fun now that Iâm playing the game with intent rather than trying to hit the ball.
Scott believes in what he teaches and it has helped my mindset, my mechanics, and my practice efficiency. Heâs also been extremely helpful with equipment, recommending several used options to look out for and even searching eBay himself to find me a listing, rather than encouraging players to chase the latest/greatest/most expensive gear, or anything that heâs selling. That said, if you need your clubs modified, he has all the tools to do it (and barely charges for labor compared to anywhere else in NYC.)
Sswing is unlike any golf facility Iâve ever seen. Itâs not dependent on frequent, expensive lessons or complicated techniques. Itâs based on simple math and intentional practice. If youâre serious about improving your golf game, turn off YouTube and give...
Read moreDon't doubt owner's ability to coach; but, he unfortunately isn't adept as a business man. Echoing some of the past criticism - it's incredibly hard to get a hold of him and has a terrible attitude. Takes no effort to understand your need as a golfer and defaults to assume that you're here to mess around.
On the phone, he told me to come anytime on the weekdays after 2 pm for a chat so I showed up Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but he always finds himself occupied with other matters. After showing up on Monday at 2 pm, he told me to come back after 4 pm but when I returned he already left. On Tuesday, he texted me to come at 2 pm Wednesday and when I showed up he's again busy. His employee gave me a quick tour and she even offered me to test out the simulator. As soon as I held a club per her offer, he came out of nowhere and snaps to come back at 4 pm and scolds, "no you cannot hit the ball". When I came back at 4 pm, he told me "you can't just come in like that and pretend this is your facility"... A slap in your face after the effort you put in to set aside work and meet the team.
Honestly, the guy is extremely disrespectful. Take your money and...
