One of our friends had heartily enjoyed themselves here previously and highly recommended we go here. We were a party of perhaps 30, all college alums and we figured there’s be no better place to hang out than a college type bar. There are couches, beer pong, popcorn, a great vibe. One of us bought 30 shots to start and it was looking to be a great night. However, the staff started coming up to one of our tables within 20 minutes and telling us that we weren’t drinking enough and we were taking up all the space, that we either had to move, buy more, or leave. We were told we were taking too many of the tables. There were several empty tables and couches when were told this. Further, she only told this to one of our party’s tables, and it was the table with all the POC’s. She never addressed the other table in our party. A quick search of the one start reviews shows a similar racist experience. Like a true frat you get pressured to drink and it’s not a place for POC’s. Don’t recommend. We went to “Other Half” and “Perfect Pint” that night instead. We all hadn’t seen each other for years and this is how our night went. Thanks for the great...
Read moreBeen visiting Snafu for about 15 years now. I always have a good time. It’s upbeat, good music and sports on the screen.. HOWEVER! The brasilian bartender continuously tried to over charge me a couple times by adding 2 more drinks on each cash round. I was with 3 other friends and whether I ordered 2 drinks she would charge me for 4. She actually got away with it 2X but the 3rd time i had to call her out on it. She immediately without hesitation adjusted the amount. It’s a shame because I paid cash for each round and tipped her in average of 20-25% per round. So just be aware when you are having a good time with friends “the bartenders will add drinks to your total” especially if they are aware you are with friends.. they use this as an advantage to place unordered drinks from “your friend” on...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Snafu 1/6/24 after seeing “Six.” We didn’t know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. Walking in, we knew we were in the right place as the DJ was playing a great mix of one of our faves. And, the music kept getting better as the evening progressed! Our bartender Lila was busy, but still made time to be friendly and didn’t complain when we inadvertently ordered the most complicated (and delicious) drinks on the menu (see video.) The crowd was lively and diverse… sometimes unruly, but the manager and staff kept them cool and under control. I suspect they were typical Saturday regulars, otherwise they might have been tossed. Will definitely come back when I return to NY. Put it...
