Sts. Brigid's & Emeric's Roman Catholic Church — Local services in New York

We recently rented their basement for my daughter's Baby Shower. It's a nice spacious location. Nice bathrooms which were spotless. Perfect place for a nice event . Unfortunately I can't say the same for their kitchen. We weren't able to use it at all. The refrigerators didn't work , neither of them. So we spent a ton of money on extra ice to keep drinks and foods that needed to be chilled cold. And we quickly found out that we couldn't keep any kind of food on the counters or anywhere in the kitchen because the roaches came out and attacked the trays as soon as you put them down. The only thing that saved our food was that they were wrapped to prevent leakage, if not we would have lost multiple trays of food. So we weren't able to use the kitchen at all. Which wasn't convenient but we did what we had to do. We spoke with the office and let them know the situation but they refused to refund us any part of the fees for the inconvenience which I thought was a little bit unreasonable considering we paid so much money for the rental. This church right here is suppose to be the house of the lord. Guess what they did, my sister-in law rented there hall and now can't get her deposit back because, it's in a contract but yet it's the house of the lord. Not only that they lost everything in a fire homeless with proof and these so godly people won't refund her the deposit. Knowing she is homeless with 4 kids. This is why i never trusted the catholic churches for this same reason. It's a need and its not alittle bit of money it's alot. I'm very upset but just need to let you know what this church is about.. unexceptable clearly because this is a time of need not just because we want to break the contract. They didn't even say we can see what we do for you. They just completely said NO... this is the house of the lord.. arent people suppose to go there for help and prayer or better yet confession..... this is why I don't trust church people... just sad...

Well there was too much Spanish for my liking; I understand that the congregation is probably mostly Spanish speaking, but we're still in America and I feel there should be consideration both ways! Would like to add that the Church...
