7B is a neighborhood bar. its worn-in appearance is not “kabuki.” the “dive” aesthetic is really a natural occurrence of serving drinkers through the good times and bad ones…and letting that history soak into the space and it being ingrained. the vibe is friendly yet gritty. mind your manners and enjoy good times. act like fool and said mileage may vary. stopped here with friends for a few beers on a Friday night. was superbusy. will get loud as the evening turns to midnight. the prices are dive-level. drinks menu etc is endless. plenty of flatscreens for sports fans. hat tips to the two bartenders for 1) holding it down as wave after wave of thirsty zombies rolled in; 2) pouring me a proper Guinness; 3) for sassing my friend for remarking on their snack of choice—sour jelly beans. my advice: come here with friends and enjoy a part of New York that has slowly been disappeared by the “future”
